"Ah, Princess Phoenix White, what a coincidence," Ryan said with an awkward smile as she climbed to her feet, trying to play off the unexpected intrusion.
Phoenix Whites expression was a mix of shock and annoyance. The serene bath she had been enjoying was now interrupted by the most unlikely of spectators. Water droplets glistened on her skin, contrasting with the cool air that rushed in from the open roof.
"Ryan King, what is the meaning of this?" Phoenix Whites voice was steady, but there was an underlying tension that betrayed her anger.
Ryan, realizing the gravity of the situation, quickly tried to think of a plausible excuse. "Well, you see, I heard a strange noise and thought someone might be in danger. I was just trying to ensure everyones safety."
Ginkgo, who had been silent until now, finally found her voice. "Your Highness, this is highly inappropriate. We should leave immediately and offer our deepest apologies."
Ryan shot Ginkgo a look that clearly communicated her desire to keep the situation from escalating. "Yes, of course, Princess. I apologize for any distress we may have caused. Well just be leaving now."
As they made their way out, Ryan couldnt help but notice the muscles beneath Phoenix Whites wet skin. It was unusual for a woman to have such a toned physique, and it only served to reinforce Ryans suspicions about her true identity.
Once they were out of the bathing chamber and had ensured that Phoenix White was not following them, Ryan turned to Ginkgo. "Did you see that? Theres no way a princess would have muscles like that. Shes definitely hiding something."
Ginkgo, still shaken from the incident, tried to reason with Ryan. "Your Highness, many women in Northland engage in physical activities. Its not uncommon for them to be strong. We shouldnt jump to conclusions."
Ryan was not convinced. "Im telling you, Ginkgo, shes not what she seems. We need to find a way to uncover the truth without arousing suspicion."
Ginkgo sighed, knowing that once Ryan got an idea in her head, there was little that could deter her. "Alright, Your Highness. But we must be careful. If Princess Phoenix White discovers our suspicions, it could jeopardize the peace between our kingdoms."
