"You need a job, dont you?"
"Yes, Im looking for a job," she replied, looking at the interlocutor timidly.
"I can give you a high-paying job, and its certainly better than working in a reputable company, though," said the man haughtily, still with his straight view without seeing the girl next to him.
"A hundred thousand dollars? A million dollars? I can give you right now for the starting salary," he bargained later, trying to attract Chelseas attention.
Chelsea, who had just heard the sentence, widened her eyes in disbelief. She thought, indeed, how rich the person in front of her was to be able to say his sentence easily.
Lest its all just a lie, so she wants to work with this man in black glasses.
It was possible that he or the man, precisely poor, was looking for a girl to kidnapped and enslaved, she thought.
Hey, Chelsea Lee! Wheres your common sense? He even has a private secretary and looks at the car hes riding in now. It seems like an expensive car that rich people used to wear.
Chelsea was silent for a moment while thinking about the sentence her interlocutor had just spoken. Then she ventured to ask, "can I know what the job is?"
Hearing the question from the girl beside him, the man turned his head for a moment. "Easy enough, you just have to pretend to be my wife," he said, then cut his gaze from Chelsea and looked back towards the front.
Bingo! What Chelsea thought turned out to be true. Isnt this like the stories in the comics? A wealthy CEO whos looking for a wife to acquire an inheritance.
Dont ask how the next storyline is because Chelsea is very well memorized with comics of such genre.
If he has got what he wants, the CEO leaves his wife, returns searching for a girl he loves, and then lives happily with his new wife.
Isnt that too dramatic for real life like this? Do you think such stories exist in real life, even in an era that has advanced like this?
"N-no, I... I just need a normal job," Chelsea replied with a stammer when a snippet of the story in the comic she had read suddenly crossed her mind.
"Easy job and high salary, you still want to refuse?" The more demand-sounding question managed to make Chelsea turn her head towards the man.
"I dont need your money. I just need a job."
"Haha, so funny." The man in the black suit suddenly laughed loudly, making Chelsea in many shocks.
"Arent people working too to earn money? And you need a job, that means you need money too, right?"
Checkmate! Youre such a fool, Chelsea! What kind of answer do you give? Doesnt she need money, thats why is she looking for a job?
Crazy girl! Oh no, dont call her like that! She even almost went to college in German because she got a scholarship for her intelligence in school, but she was also a bit stupid at the wrong time.
Yeah, like now. Its clear that Chelsea needs a job—ah may be more appropriate if we call it money.
Got an easy job offer and a high salary but was rejected? Hey, youre outrageous, Chelsea!
No-no, stop blaming Chelsea like this! Its not her fault, but we must blame her hobby of reading comics useless and making her imagine it in real life.
"I cant accept the job, sorry and excuse me."
Chelsea turned around. She had just grabbed the car doorknob, but the following sentence said by the man was able to make Chelsea very surprised and made both of her eyeballs seem to want to jump out.
"Chelsea Lee, the second daughter of jo family from Christian Lee and Lia Lees couple. Students
graduated from Vancouver High School, got a scholarship to continue studying at the Leibniz
University of Hannover but turned it down because they did not provide a full scholarship."
"Has an older sister named Agatha Lee and a younger sister named Ella Lee," The man explained Chelseas identity in detail.
"Mr. Lee, a former board member in America, then moved to Canada to marry Mrs. Lee. Worked at SC Group company, which is now sickly and in much debt. Also, Mrs. Lee has a history of chronic heart and lung diseases."
Chelsea spontaneously turned around. Her hand that wanted to open the car door came off. She looked at the man who had just spoken at length with a puzzled and demanding look.
How could the man before her tell the identity of her family and herself in such detail? That was the question that came to Chelseas mind right now.
Chelsea frowned, still astonished. She was silent for a moment, then asked again. "Y-you... who exactly are you?"
"If you want to work with me, Ill tell you everything," the man replied lightly. "so, deal?" he said again. Now he looked at Chelsea while outstretched his arms to get approval from the girl in front of him.
Chelsea was silent, still thinking about what answer she would give next. Chelsea still hesitates because she doesnt know precisely the foreign man she is facing right now.
The man can know her identity and her fathers background, even the disease suffered by her mother.
"Doesnt take much to think. I know you need money now," The man said mockingly. He was silent, and then he began to speak again when his interlocutor still had no answer.
"So, Mr. Lee didnt manage to get any money from his first daughter, and now hes trying to take advantage of his second daughter. Thats great." The man demeaned Chelseas father.
"Dont tell me that now her third daughter is also working hard looking for a part-time job after school."
"Enough! Stop talking anything about my dad! You dont know anything about him!"
Chelseas patience collapsed. She had tried to temper her anger since a time ago. But, a sharp accusation that she had just heard from the man—although the allegations are true—made her no longer able to hold back her emotions.
"Theres no need to be too angry like that. I know. It too hurts to hear the truth from others." The man smiled paltrily.
"But, arent you looking for a job for that? Paying off Mr. Lees debts and Mrs. Lees care expenses."
"Listen carefully, sir. I have no problem whatsoever with you. So please, dont disturb my familys life and I."
Chelseas linked hands hinted that she was begging very much at the man before her. While the man only responded with a smile that was difficult to interpret.
"Huh, given some help instead of thanking but instead getting angry," he sneered, "after all, who would want to disrupt someone elses life for no reason, like theres no other job."
Chelsea was silent to hear the negative words coming from the mans lips, and she preferred not to respond.
Shortly after, Chelsea got out of the car because she couldnt stand the arrogant attitude of the man she had just met.
The girls walking steps sound pretty loud, showing her bad mood. She forgot if something was left there because she was too hasty to go.
