"Congratulations!"
A person cheered and blew a whistle, then the entire hall instantly turned into an ocean of applause.
Hellen stood on the spot, regardless of how incongruous her disappointment was with the atmosphere.
She wanted to tell everyone that Edward was lying.
Chole left him for another man four years ago, and it was she who accompanied Edward for the last three years!
But she finally held down the impulse because she knew Edward had never regarded her as his lover.
She could be his toy, his pet, but never his girlfriend.
The crowd gradually dispersed, and Edward also left with Chole hand in hand.
He calmly passed Hellen without any expression, because all his attention was on the woman who held his hand.
Hellens tears streamed from her eyes.
She had to accept the truth that she did not leave any trace in that mans heart, and her existence, from the beginning to the end, was a joke.
A pit-a-pat of feet sounded behind Hellen and this forced her to wipe away her tears in a fluster.
"The reception is over?"
Richard, the first officer, walked over and happened to notice Hellens red eyes.
"Whats going on?"
Richard took a paper towel from his pocket and handed it to Hellen: "The new purser is stunning, but you are no less pretty than her. You dont have to cry for that."
"This is not funny!"
Hellen gnashed her teeth and strode away.
When Hellen slightly recovered from the sorrow and got home, it was very late.
Causally gulping a can of freezing beer, she slumped on the sofa.
Taking out her mobile phone, she clicked into a folder which was full of Edwards photos.
She greedily touched his face on the photo, as if this could help her keep him.
But her finger could never reach him, just like she had never owned him.
The time on the bed did not count.
Pressing her finger on delete for a while, Hellen suddenly felt a cramp in her stomach.
It was said that the stomach was an emotional organ, but her sorrow was not the main reason.
The fact that she did not eat anything was a bucket of gunpower, while that freezing beer became the fire that ignited it.
Hellen struggled to find her medicine, only to find she forgot to take it.
The medicine she usually took was taken by Edward from Switzerland, which meant it was not available domestically.
Hesitating for a long while, Hellen finally dialed Edward.
She was not very sure if he would send her medicine for the sake of their relationship, but she had to try it.
This did not sound too much, did it?
The connection was quite slow.
Every moment the phone beeped, Hellen would feel her stomach ache more severely.
When she was about to give up, it was finally answered.
Before Hellen could take a breath of relief, a female voice made her frown again.
It was Chole!
Hellen could not help regretting making the call--The pain made her forget that her room was now occupied by that woman.
She wanted to cut the call, but the extreme pain made it so different for her.
Chole, however, said again when getting no response: "May you tell me who you are? Eddie did not save your number."
