On the third night since Jennifer agreed to marry Nansen, the Fields sent a car to pick up Jennifer to their house.
After Jennifer packed up her things, she got into the car and sat in the back. The housekeeper of the Fields told her what to do to take care of Nansen with no expression on his face.
"Nansen is the eldest son of Mr. Field. His parents died when he was ten years old and when he was thirteen years old, he lost his grandfather and was disfigured in a big fire. That explains why he has a very strange temper and does not like to talk to people. The young master sometimes stays alone in the study, allowing no one to set foot in it. You just need to send three meals a day to him, and remeber to knock the door. By the way, please do not tell anyone what I just told you. After all, the family secret must be kept behind closed doors."
Hearing this, Jennifer felt more anxious and her fingers held on to her clothes, "I wont tell anybody about this."
Jennifer remembered what Julie had said to her before leaving the Greens...
Julie said that Nansen Field was the heir of the Fields and as long as Jennifer gave birth to a male baby, she will have the whole family business of the Fields.
But Jennifer did not have the "ambition". She never thought about that.
Since she had signed the marriage paper and married Nansen, Jennifer wanted to lead a happy life with him.
But before seeing Nansen, her heart was full of uneasiness.
Jennifer felt pity for her husband, Nansen. She thought he was more pathetic than her.
She lost her mother at an early age, and grew up in the Green. Though she did not get any affection, at least she was fine and healthy.
But Nansen lost his parents, and then was disfigured in a big fire.
In recent years, he was nominally the heir of the Fields. Now he was twenty-five years old, but his uncle still wanted to control his family business and he even wanted to confine Nansen.
In a sense, she and Nansen were alike.
She thought they could warm each other and support each other.
Jennifer stopped being nervous and started to smile.
Since she had no choice, she would try to live a better life.
The limousine was about a hundred meters away from the large black iron gate, and the gate slowly opened before her...
Jennifer looked through the car window and saw different kinds of precious flowers in the middle of the Western-style building that looked somewhat old, but elegant and imposing.
After the car stopped, Jennifer got out of the car with the housekeeper and looked at the luxurious interior decoration of the house, she was all dazed.
The housekeeper coldly asked the servants, "You dont have to take Mrs. Fields belongings upstairs and prepare everything for Mrs. Field."
The housekeepers tone was non-negotiable, and he did not respect Nansen at all.
"I will take Mrs. Field upstairs to see Nansen." After the housekeeper said, he walked toward the house.
Jennifer kept up with him...
Nansens room was at the end of the second floor. When Jennifer arrived, the housekeeper left.
Standing outside the door, and thinking her husband was in there, Jennifers heart was beating fast.
She didnt feel shy, but had expectations and a little uncertainty for the future.
Jennifer took deep breaths, and made mental preparation before coming in. She said with a smile and knocked on the door, "Excuse me, I am your wife, Jennifer Green. Can I come in?"
No one answered, so Jennifer had to twist the door knob and open the door...
The room was all in darkness and Jennifer couldnt see anything.
An inexplicable sense of fear struck, and Jennifer trembled slightly, biting her lower lip and saying in a low voice, "Excuse me, I am your wife Jennifer Green..."
"What is your purpose in marrying me?"
In the darkness, hearing a hoarse male voice, Jennifer felt scared.
