Upon seeing the desired reaction she wanted, Jessica placed both hands on his broad shoulders and faked an empathetic expression.
"The news has leaked all over social media, some YouTubers caught her at a hospital last night, and found out she was getting your child aborted." She continued speaking, using the tips of her fingers to massage his thick neck.
"Who would have guessed? If she didnt want to have kids with you, there were plenty countermeasures. The press are going to storm your Villa in a matter of minutes." As she spoke her eyes never left his pink lips.
"It would have been better if someone more worthy was given the chance to carry your..." Before she could utter another word, the man before her rudely pushed her away, keeping her at arms length.
As though she were the plague itself.
"Haines!" She shouted, barely managing not to trip and fall flat on her face.
"Its as though your head is deluded from playing so many roles. How dare you make false claims about my wife?!" He scolded, animatedly dusting off her touch from his shoulders.
Jessica scoffed at him and fixed her posture, allowing her stand straight. "Your wife? If I can still recall, just months ago, she was no one to you. Your marriage was purely imposed by your parents, and you hated the sight of her." She spat out, pointing her finger at him.
"This time two months ago, you were in my bed, wrapped around my finger! Just when did you start regarding that low born as your spouse?!" Jessica heightened her screams to enable everyone downstairs hear the content of their argument.
Haines, who was certainly aware of her nature reached forward and gripped her by her shoulders, locking their gazes.
"Be careful with that tongue of yours, anything we had in the past was merely fleeting fling. And I trust you havent forgotten the deal we made, or would you like for me to tell the press all about your drug addiction? Make it the perfect scoop." He threatened with no remorse in his tone.
Irritated by his reaction, Jessica pushed him away and awarded him a tight slap right across the cheek.
"How dare you threaten me? How is it my fault your wife aborted your child without your consent? If you dont give a damn about me exposing our affair, then go right ahead and tell the press all about me." She said and raised her index finger.
"I. Dare. You." Jessica retorted, prodding at his exposed chest with each word she said.
"Get out." He replied, "before I really do something ugly."
Jessica withdrew her finger, then straightened the leather mini skirt she had on. Till she disposed of herself, her worried gaze never left the angry man standing in the middle of his room.
Lets see how you get yourself out of this situation, you Low born piece of shit. she thought to herself, as she strode past the eager helps all equally curious about what exactly was going on.
She stopped in her tracks the moment she caught sight of Violet from the corner of her eyes, blending into the background nicely.
"The rest of you give us the room." Jessica announced in a haughty tone, taking command of someone elses home.
Purely wanting not to get caught in the crossfire, the helps vacated the living area and retired to their quarters, leaving the two alone.
Jessica reached into her purse and pulled out a white envelope, "here, take this." She casually said with disinterested eyes.
Violet reluctantly took the envelope, then peeked inside of it, half certain it was what she guessed was inside. After taking a glance, the assistant was sure enough that she had a clear understanding of the picture Jessica was trying to create.
"If he asks you, tell him that his wife had an abortion and you withdrew a huge sum of money, unaware that was why." Jessica ordered, mindlessly staring at her nails.
"I couldnt, Mrs Curran is a nice person and I believe in karma." Violet responded, pushing the money back into Jessicas grip.
"Its not a request, its an order. He doesnt seem to remember much from last night, if I should take a guess, its the side effect of taking his pills late. All you need to do is confirm that you withdrew a large sum of money for her, and say you had no idea on her whereabouts last night."
"Mrs Curran was in an accident." Violet firmly told her, "I vividly remember that." She went on to say, unafraid of the actress.
"Aish." Jessica pinched her temples, "why wont you just do as I tell you to? You already curried with me in the past to conceal our affair from her. Last night you helped me impersonate her, whats so hard about following my orders? I mean, Im going to buy your silence." The agitated actress spat out, on the verge of losing her cool.
Seeing just how obstinate Violet was being towards accepting the money, she decided to use another alternative.
"Do you realize that impersonating someone else is fraud? If Haines decides to press charges, hes going to sue for damages. Dont forget..." Jessica took a pause and rested her right hand on the womans shoulder, then shot her a threatening glare.
"That assisting in a crime makes you equally as guilty. If Haines does decide to sue, then getting the CCTV footage of you handing over the wig and sending the dress to my hotel room wont help your case." She tightened her grip on the womans shoulder, making her point clear.
"If you understand, then just do what I tell you to do, and itll work out nicely for the both of us." Jessica finally said, cockiness radiating all across her face.
Helpless, Violet could only nod in response to what she said, and watch the malicious woman walk away satisfied.
*Night*
It was the first time that Renée had gone somewhere without keeping her husband updated about her whereabouts. The entire Villa was in a state of disarray as they all kept awake, waiting for her to return to them.
Violet was busy making a phone call close to the maze garden. It was the upteenth time another media house had tried to schedule an interview with Haines.
"Yes, we will get back to you soon..." Violet was saying into the phone, till her eyes caught sight of someone in blue jeans and a black jacket walk past the fountain.
Isnt that Mrs Curran? she walked towards her to take a closer look, carefully hiding herself from being seen, behind the water fountain.
Though that proved futile, because almost immediately her phone rang loudly, its ringing caught her off guard that she almost ended up dropping her phone into the water.
She swiftly picked up the call and slapped the phone on her right ear, without checking the caller ID.
"Hello." She said.
"Tell my wife to come upstairs. Now." And with that the other side of the call went dead.
Violet felt her stomach tie a nervous knot, she already dreaded what she had to do, especially after considering just how much Mrs Curran had helped her.
"Mrs Curran." She called out, stepping out of the shadows.
Renée continued walking forward, without acknowledging the womans call, she might have never even heard it.
"Mrs Curran! Its your husband." She tried again, this time her voice sounded more urgent.
Renée stopped in her tracks, but didnt look behind her just yet. "He wants you to come to the study." Violet told her, anxious about the womans frame of mind.
After all, this woman had just lost her child and had her identify stolen all in one night.
Renée then looked over her shoulder at Violet and did the oddest thing ever. "Is that so? Well, thank you." She said and pulled her lips back into a full smile.
Violet could feel her heart skip a beat, as her eyes were casted on the most genuine smile she had ever seen on a person.
"Youre... youre welcome." She gruffly replied under her breath, "Ill lead the way." Violet offered, walking in front so Renée wouldnt see the sympathetic look on her guilty face.
They reached the already opened door to the study, with Mr Curran currently waiting inside.
"Sir, your wife is here." Violet announced from the door, holding it open for Renée to walk in.
"Leave us and shut the door behind you." He sternly demanded, without bating an eye.
Renée could sense her husband was tensed and hesitated to walk into the study for a second.
"Good luck maam." Violet said and patted her on the shoulder, sincerely hoping the situation wouldnt turn too dire.
"You too." Renée told her in a cryptic tone, startling Violet, who watched the door close after she stepped inside.
Inside of an angry lions den.
