Seeing the middle-aged man lunging toward her, Ava Thompson quickly sidestepped and dashed toward the bars main hall.
She had been drugged and absolutely could not let that disgusting old pervert catch her. Her innocence could not be tarnished by someone like him.
As for Mark Zhang, she wouldn’t let him get away with this.
The middle-aged man yelled after her, “Hey, don’t run! Come here and let Uncle give you a kiss!”
Ava rushed into the bar’s crowded area but collided with someone again, this time falling straight into their chest.
The man’s solid, muscular build was like hitting a wall, and it hurt enough to nearly make her cry.
Looking up, she found herself staring into familiar black eyes. “It’s you. Help... help me! Don’t let that old pervert catch me!”
She had bumped into Jason King—the man who had previously unbuckled his belt for her.
She wasn’t sure why she was asking Jason for help; perhaps it was because he had assisted her before, and her subconscious felt he was safe.
Jason King looked down at the girl who had suddenly crashed into him, a hint of surprise flickering in his deep gaze. He then turned his cold, penetrating gaze toward the old pervert she mentioned and saw the middle-aged man chasing after them, his large belly bouncing as he ran.
“You went to unbuckle his belt?” Jasons voice was low and impossible to read.
Ava, feeling increasingly feverish, was about to deny it when Jasons alluring voice interrupted her thoughts. “Otherwise, why would he be chasing you?”
“...” Ava gasped for breath, her vision blurring as she looked up at Jason’s handsome face. “Because I... I’m just too pretty.” Did this guy think she was some sort of belt unbuckler?
“...” This time, Jason was at a loss for words.
“Hot! Help... help me! I... feel awful.” As her consciousness began to fade, Ava instinctively clung to Jason tightly.
It was as if she had found a lifeline and was terrified of losing it. She wrapped her slender arms around him, holding on for dear life.
Jason trembled slightly at her tight embrace, his dark eyes deepening with an unreadable expression. He didn’t push her away; instead, he allowed her to cling to him.
The drunken middle-aged man reached them and shouted, “Who the hell are you? You think you can steal the woman I have my eyes on? Are you tired of living? Let her go!”
The man, spewing profanities, lunged forward, attempting to pull Ava away from Jason.
However, before he could get close, two young men who had been following Jason stepped in and grabbed him by the shoulders.
The strength in their grips was immense, and with a couple of cracking sounds, the middle-aged man’s demeanor shifted from aggressive to pained as he yelled, “Ah! My arm, my arm! Let go! How dare you touch me! Do you even know who I am? I’m the president of Titan Entertainment!”
In the entertainment industry, besides the global titan Imperial Entertainment Group, Titan Entertainment and Skyline Media were also well-known, with their president being a key figure that many stars courted.
“You’re the president of Titan Entertainment? I didn’t see that coming. Old man, you’re pretty short for that title. But do you know who he is?” Leo, the young man gripping the president’s left shoulder, said with a smile, though his eyes were cold as ice.
“The ‘he’ he refers to is, of course, Jason King.”
With his shoulder seemingly dislocated, the Titan president sobered up from his drunken state and turned to face Jason, locking eyes with his piercing, hawk-like gaze.
The president’s heart raced, a spark of fear igniting within him. Although he didn’t know Jason’s identity, the man’s commanding presence and extraordinary demeanor hinted that he was someone formidable and not to be trifled with.
In Aspen City, aside from the heads of the four major families, the only big shots were the founders and presidents of Imperial Entertainment.
