"Brother William..." Emily Thompson whispered in disbelief.
William Parker turned around with a look of disgust and replied, "Emily Thompson, know your place." With that, he left with Lily Adams without looking back, supposedly to take her out for dinner.
In the quiet elegance of the restaurant, William wiped his mouth with a napkin, then looked thoughtfully at Lily.
Lily felt a bit guilty under his gaze and put down her cutlery: "Finished eating? Lets go then."
William glanced at his watch: "No rush, lets talk about this morning."
Lilys hand clenched under the table, her face feigning confusion: "What happened this morning?"
"You scalded her? Why?" William got straight to the point, not giving Lily a chance to pretend.
A flash of darkness crossed Lilys eyes, disappearing as quickly as it came. She looked at her abdomen with a sorrowful expression: "William, I know I cant replace her in your heart, but I am carrying your child now. Dont I even have the right to assert a little dominance?"
She was a smart woman, knowing that playing dumb wouldnt work at this point, and she used the child as her safeguard.
William rubbed his temples with a hint of headache: "She is still my wife, and I hope you know your limits."
Lily bit her lower lip so tightly that it began to taste like blood before she slightly loosened it. William was blatantly humiliating her, all because of that woman at home!
The following days were relatively calm.
One day, Lily suddenly approached Emily: "William said you can have the doll back, just sign this."
Emilys eyes turned red as she looked at her: "What do you mean?"
Lily had come prepared and pulled out a divorce agreement from her bag: "Sign it, and the doll is yours, your freedom is yours."
Emily glanced at it, noting that unlike the last time, this document had no provisions for her to receive anything.
"Since youre the guilty party, you cant demand too much, can you, Miss Thompson?" Lily stood close to Emily, whispering in her ear.
Emily knocked the document out of Lilys hand, but what she didnt expect was that Lily would fall to the ground with the force.
Lily fell to the floor, her eyes instantly red, and she screamed in a hoarse voice: "Emily Thompson—!"
Emily saw blood seeping from under Lily, stepping back in disbelief: "Youre trying to frame me."
Ambulances arrived quickly, and Emily knew that William wouldnt let her go after this incident.
She didnt expect that Lily could be so ruthless, even willing to harm her own child!
It wasnt until late at night that William returned.
Emily smelled the strong scent of disinfectant on him and lowered her eyes.
William spoke coldly: "Do you know what happened to Lily?"
Without waiting for Emily to speak, he continued on his own: "A potent abortion drug, and you pushed her. Emily Thompson, youre really ruthless!"
Emily never thought that Lily could be so cruel to herself, that falling wasnt enough, and she even used drugs!
Emily felt that it was useless to say more: "Since you dont believe me, if you say its me, then its me!"
William frowned at her appearance: "You harmed Lilys child, so Ill destroy whats important to you."
No! Emily clutched her chest in horror.
