Sherry tightly grabbed the quilt, trembling with tears in her eyes.
She did not even say yes, while the man had already found her a new residence.
"Mayer…Moving is not trivial. I have been here for so many years and I…"
Sherry was conscious of a catch in her voice.
"You will have a new house and a new nanny, as good as you have now."
Mayers voice was stained with impatience: "What else do you want? "
"Im not asking anything!"
Sherrys eyes turned red and her tears instantly welled up.
"You know", she forced herself to calm down and said: "Marriage and divorce means too much. We got to think it twice."
"Wow!"
Mayer snorted with sarcasm: "I suppose you thought more than twice when climbing onto my bed!"
Sherry was dazed for a while and hurriedly said: "How many times do I have to explain this to you?"
The one who should have been married to Mayer was her sister Shera Brown, but Shera went abroad when Mayers family business was in trouble and escaped the marriage.
To defend the reputation of their family, Sherrys mother planned an accident and made Sherry Mayers bride.
It was so difficult for Sherry to tell the embarrassing truth, and Mayer would not believe this explanation.
"You should not I am never a patient man."
Mayers cold voice dragged Sherrys mind back to reality.
She hurriedly looked over, only to see the man walking out of the room: "Im sick of your tricks."
The night passed away as Sherry never shut her eyes.
She looked at the divorce agreement on the bedside as if just having a nightmare.
But the signature of Mayer mercilessly told her that it was not a dream.
As long as she took the pen and wrote her name on the paper, the lawyer hired by Mayer would bring their marriage to an end.
Holding the pen for a long while, Sherry finally failed to gather enough courage to sign her name.
The house she elaborately decorated…
The man she wholeheartedly dedicated…
How could she give up all this so easily?
"Knock knock…"
Sherry opened the door and unsurprisingly saw Tom, the lawyer who took charge of legal affairs for Mayer.
"Miss Brown."
Tom was polite as usual, but smoothly changing the way he addressed Mrs. Goodwin: "At Mr. Goodwins request, I am here to take the agreement and send you to your new residence."
No mercy. No Room.
Typically Mayers style.
Thinking of the divorce agreement and that woman, Sherry finally turned all her complicated feelings into a bitter smile: "Fine."
Tom nodded and took the agreement, while the domestic workers coming with him began to clean the house.
Instead of making futile efforts, Sherry silently packed her belongings.
The domestic workers were so professional that the villa soon became brand-new.
Just like Sherry had never lived there.
Tom wanted to drive Sherry to her new residence, but Sherry refused.
"Now that we have divorced, I dont need to do as he commands."
She talked to Tom with maximum calm: "I want the divorce quick."
With this, she stopped a taxi and left with her luggage.
Seeing the house where she lived for three years gradually disappearing from the rearview mirror of the taxi, Sherry finally stopped restraining her tears.
Her love…her marriage…and her home….
All became none…
But things can be worse.
An acute pain suddenly burst out from Sherrys stomach, and it soon overwhelmed the poor woman.
"Miss?"
Seeing the sweat on Sherrys painful face, the driver hurriedly changed the direction and sent her to the hospital.
When Sherry woke up from faintness, what came into her sight was a serious face.
"Miss, I have to remind you", A gynecologist looked at the examination result in his hand and solemnly said to Sherry: "Your incomplete abortion two years ago and your neglection of infection had caused your…uterine cancer."
