Pain.

It felt as if every bone in her body had shattered.

Emily Thompson struggled to open her eyes, a white blur reflecting into her pupils, her head throbbing and swollen.

"Director Wu, Mrs. Carter is awake."

Her dazed eyes rolled a couple of times, and she saw the face approaching, "Mrs. Carter, do you know where you are? Do you know who you are?"

"I know," she barely opened her mouth, her voice faint and inaudible.

She even remembered that she had a car accident, was rear-ended and hit the guardrail of the bridge.

Dr. Wilson recorded in the medical record, "Her face was pierced by glass, but its not a big problem, it can be treated with skin grafting and micro-surgery."

Emily raised her hand to touch her face, wrapped in thick gauze. The accident was too sudden, and she was still frightened.

"But for now, it cant be done," Dr. Wilson looked at the hCG test and said, "The baby is 6 weeks old, and the micro-surgery requires a lot of medication, which will affect the fetal development."

Emily looked at the doctor in surprise, lying in bed, she couldnt feel a little life in her body at all.
