In the soft embrace of the morning sun, a room bathed in light held two figures entwined on a large bed. A cascade of black hair mingled across the pillows, making it difficult to discern where one person ended and the other began. As the long-haired woman, Scarlett OHara, awoke, the man beside her, as if sensing her movement, tightened his hold and nuzzled her head.
Scarlett couldnt help but smile silently, and once he stilled, she carefully removed his arm from her waist and slipped out of bed. The sight of the scattered traces on the floor made her blush, even for someone as bold as her.
She tiptoed into the bathroom, closing the door behind her without a sound, not noticing that the man in the bed, Edward Cullen, had opened his eyes the moment she started for the bathroom. He let out a soft sigh after she closed the door.
When Scarlett emerged from the bathroom, she was dressed in a professional attire, her long black hair pulled back into a bun, with a single strand falling loose, adding an air of elegance to her otherwise stern appearance. Edwards gaze made her cheeks flush involuntarily.
After a moment of hesitation, Scarlett spoke softly, "Edward, theres money in the bedside drawer. If you need anything, just buy it, and let me know if its not enough."
Edward looked at her lazily, "I dont want money, I just want you."
Scarlett rolled her eyes at him, her usual sternness replaced by a coquettishness that made Edward feel his knees weaken.
"Scarlett, dont go to work, stay with me, please?" His deep, slightly husky voice almost made Scarlett lose her balance.
She turned her head away hastily, stammering, "I, I have to go to work now."
Edward chuckled softly, then winked and blew her a kiss.
Scarletts face turned scarlet, and without another word, she fled the room in a flurry.
After Scarlett left, Edward lay back, his hands behind his head, thinking about the incredible experiences of the past few days. He turned his head slightly and inhaled the scent that still lingered on the pillow where Scarlett had rested. He took a deep breath, filling his senses with her fragrance before closing his eyes contentedly.
This woman was like opium, once you were hooked, you didnt want to let go.
He couldnt understand why Noah Calhoun had been so foolish as to let go of someone like Scarlett. But that was his loss, and Edward was more than happy to take what Noah had discarded.
From now on, Scarlett would have no more ties to Noah Calhoun.
Outside the door, Scarlett took a deep breath, feeling the heat on her cheeks subside before she let out a sigh and entered the elevator.
As soon as she was in the elevator, she received a text message. Upon glancing at it, her expression darkened immediately.
