Reason shattered, leaving Daisy Buchanan unable to explain further, as a sense of dread crept in, capturing her limbs. She reached down to touch her legs, her hands coming back covered in blood. Immediately, she screamed with all her might, hoping the paramedics just ten meters away could hear her, begging them to save her poor child.
"Doctor! Doctor, save my baby, save my baby..."
But all she saw were the paramedics climbing into their vehicles, the blue and red lights flashing as the ambulance pulled away from the crowd, racing off into the night.
Only Calpurnia Finch remained behind.
With a smirk that spelled disaster, she approached Daisy step by step. "Daisy Buchanan, how can you be so foolish? So stupid that I almost feel sorry for you, tut-tut."
Squatting in front of her, Calpurnia glanced at the blood flowing steadily from Daisys lower body, her smile disappearing as she bit her lip menacingly. "I gave you countless chances to live, but you insisted on seeking your own death. You cant blame others."
With a wave of her hand, two bodyguards dressed in black suits approached.
"What... what are you going to do..." Daisys stomach was wracked with pain, as if a spiral blade was tearing through her womb. Sweat beaded on her forehead, and she felt a sense of dread building.
Daisy tried to move away from Calpurnia and her men, dragging her body across the rough ground. She crawled, pleading with Calpurnia, "Please let me go. Ill take my child far away and never appear in front of Atticus again. Please, just let us go..."
Her plea was one of utter humility, a mothers desperate attempt to protect her unborn child.
Calpurnia grabbed her by the chin, her voice dripping with malice as she spoke. "Its too late. Its not me who wants to harm your child now, its Atticus who wants to end this bastard!"
With that, she roughly let go and ordered the guards, "Take her to the obstetrics department and have the doctors and nurses prepare for an abortion. This is what Mr. Finch ordered. Make sure to find an authority in obstetrics to perform a flawless abortion and ensure she can never bear children again."
Seeing Calpurnias vicious grin, Daisy mustered all her strength to resist. "No, Atticus wouldnt be so cruel to me. It must be you trying to harm me..."
"You, for the sake of the bastard in your belly, harmed me and Atticuss parents. Do you think he would still have the slightest bit of mercy for you? Daisy Buchanan, no love can withstand such repeated desecration. Its your own fault for foolishly believing I would stop. Ive been making you hurt Atticus over and over, wearing away at his feelings for you, you fool!"
Spitting out her words, Calpurnia turned with an elegant sway, leaving Daisy behind.
Daisy was struck by lightning, unable to gather her thoughts for a long while.
Calpurnia had never intended to let her go... and Atticus, if she couldnt have him, she would destroy him!
Daisy had naively done so much, only to fall into her trap, including the car accident today, all part of Calpurnias plan!
The Finches had adopted her, preventing Calpurnia from being with Atticus, so she staged the accident, framed her, and eliminated the Finch parents, killing two birds with one stone!
Daisy Buchanan, youre such a joke. Not only did you destroy your own love, but you also became an accomplice to Calpurnia...
Staring at Calpurnia as she walked away, a terrifying thought suddenly occurred to Daisy.
Since you wont let us live in peace, why should I let you be comfortable and at ease?
