"Why dont you believe me, Richard! Why!" Sarah was furious. She hated that Richard King didnt trust her.
One moment he was whispering sweet nothings, the next he accused her of poisoning his concubine.
If it had been her, would the concubine have lasted this long? Would she have left any trace!
"Hand over the antidote," Richard said, standing in the dim shadows, his face expressionless, but his words were as cold as ice.
"I dont have any antidote! I dont even know what poison shes taken!" Sarah had said this sentence countless times. She thought Richard had true feelings for her.
"Hit her," Richard said with a hint of ruthlessness in his eyes, as if he hadnt heard her defense, just uttering a single word.
The whip, stained with blood, cracked through the air, fiercely landing on Sarahs already battered body.
"Ah--"
A shrill scream came from the dimly lit dungeon.
Sarah looked up at the man with difficulty. He had once warmed her hands in the snowy night and brought her delicious sweets and trinkets secretly.
But now he stood in front of her, torturing her, forcing her to hand over a nonexistent antidote. His features were so familiar, even the tassel on his sword remained unchanged, but was he really the man she loved?
The searing pain almost made Sarah faint, but she held onto this last breath, she must not die like this.
Her bloodshot eyes suddenly brightened, she struggled with her hands shackled by chains, her fingernails filled with dark mud.
"Richard," she looked up at him with difficulty, "I didnt poison anyone."
Perhaps fearing to beat her to death, the bone-crushing whip finally stopped.
"Clearly, in two days, I would have taken you as a concubine, why cant you wait, you have to get rid of my concubine!" Richard shouted fiercely, fiercely grabbing Sarahs neck.
"Cough..." Sarahs face immediately twisted, she kept looking at Richard, the air gradually disappearing.
"Humph!" Richards eyes flickered and he withdrew his hand, leaving a clear and terrifying fingerprint on Sarahs neck.
"Cough cough cough, I say again..." Sarah shook her head with a little strength, her voice hoarse and unpleasant, "I! Didnt!"
But Richards expression was as resolute as she saw.
"Youve always been in charge of Rongs medication, the last bowl of soup you fed her, you still wont say, do you really think Im reluctant to kill you?!" Richard picked up his sword, a chill falling on Sarahs shoulder.
"I really dont know what poison she took!" Sarah roared with all her strength, "Why dont you believe me!"
"I trusted you too much, thats why I gave Rong to you." Richards eyes were devoid of any temperature, "If anything happens to Rong, I will make you accompany her in death."
Sarah looked at him, those hands that had caressed her temples but now deeply choked her throat, those eyes that were full of warmth looking at her, now only cold and hatred, his lips that had kissed her earlobe, now sharp words stabbing straight into her heart.
Richard King, I once loved you, I actually loved you...
Sarah laughed lowly: "Dont you know my character? I learned from Master Samuel, the Rong you mentioned was mean to me in the mansion, if I wanted to poison, I would definitely make her unable to live or die! How could I make it so easy for her!"
Sarah felt ridiculous, if today someone else was framed, she would believe without hesitation, but when it came to herself, he didnt.
He didnt even give time to investigate the clues, and he tortured her to demand the antidote, it was really sad, funny.
Richard King narrowed his eyes slightly and stepped forward with his sword: "If you have the antidote, I wont kill you, but I will definitely not let you live well!"
Sarah heard the sound of the sword entering the flesh, she looked down in disbelief, looking at the long sword that was an inch away from the heart room and stabbed into her chest.
Richard pulled out the sword, he looked at her painful appearance, only felt that she deserved it!
"Ugh!" Sarahs face turned pale instantly, her forehead was immediately covered with sweat.
Blood dyed the color of Sarahs clothes.
"This sword is for Huan Rong and my unborn child, I want you to always remember this price!" The sword edge was bleeding, and his voice was extremely cold.
"Richard," Sarahs lips were unusually pale, "how sincere are you to me?"
He actually dared to do it, he actually stabbed her?!
She couldnt tell whether it was more painful in the chest or in the heart, you know, this sword was more painful than killing her.
Richard listened, and immediately sneered: "A person with a heart like you, also deserves to talk to me about sincerity?"
How dare she ask for sincerity from him?
"Ah, just remembered." Richard tore off the sword tassel, "Did you sew this for me?"
The peacock patterned blue cloth, Sarah was not good at female work, and stayed up several nights to finish it.
"No -" Sarah watched Richard throw the sword tassel into the fire.
She and he both regarded the sword tassel as a token, and now it was all swallowed by the fire.
A smell of burning licorice spread in the air.
Richard didnt look at Sarah anymore, took care of Huan Rongs body, he turned around and left, his voice echoing in the empty and cold dungeon: "Remember, if she lives, you live, if she dies, you will be buried with her!"
