"Isnt that enough?" Lily asked, her eyes filled with a chilling intent as she stared at Emily.
Emily felt a shiver run down her spine, but she knew she couldnt afford to engage in Lilys madness any longer. She had a sick mother to care for.
"Im begging you, let me go!" Emily pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper.
Lilys lips curled into a sinister smile. "The game has only just begun, and youre already ready to give up?"
Emily shook her head, her eyes dry of tears. "Lily, please, just let me go."
But Lily was relentless. "I want you dead," she hissed, her grip on Emilys arm tightening.
The onlookers could only see Lily kneeling before Emily, unable to hear their hushed conversation. They murmured their disapproval, casting judgmental glances at Emily.
"How heartless can one woman be? She looks so gentle, yet shes capable of such cruelty," someone muttered.
"Looks can be deceiving. Evil doesnt announce itself," another voice chimed in.
"A woman like that deserves to die. Whats the point of her even being alive?" a third person added.
The harsh words stung Emily, but she had long grown accustomed to the sting of public scorn. All she wanted now was survival.
Lily leaned in close to Emily, her voice a venomous whisper. "You see, its not just me who wants you dead."
Emilys heart clenched, her nails digging into her palms. She knew she had to do something, but what? She couldnt keep playing Lilys games.
Suddenly, Lilys expression changed. "Sister, if I kneel before you, will you give my baby back?"
Before Emily could react, Lily was on her knees, her hands grasping Emilys, tears streaming down her face.
"Will you?" she sobbed, playing the victim for the crowd.
Emily felt the bile rise in her throat. She tried to pull away, but Lilys grip was iron.
"Enough!" Emily snapped, yanking her hands free. "You have everything you could ever want. Why cant you just leave me alone?"
Lilys eyes narrowed, a malicious glint shining through her tears. "This is just the beginning," she warned.
Emilys heart sank. She knew Lily was serious, and she also knew she couldnt win this fight. Not when Lily held all the cards.
"Please, Lily," Emily begged, desperation lacing her voice. "I cant play this game with you anymore."
But Lily was beyond reason. "I said, I want you dead!" With a sudden, violent shove, Lily pushed Emily towards the edge of the balcony.
Emily stumbled, barely catching herself on the railing. She glared at Lily, her fear morphing into anger.
"Youre insane," Emily spat.
But Lily just smiled, her madness on full display. "Insane or not, youre going to fall."
Before Emily could react, Lily lunged at her, her hands reaching for Emilys throat.
