"Wh-What do you mean?!" Bella Swans body stiffened instantly, a chill spreading from her neck to her limbs.
"In this world, no one loves you more than I do. If you stay by my side obediently, I can give you everything I can. Otherwise..."
Edward Cullen reached out to twirl a strand of her hair around his fingers, his seductive voice carrying an inexplicable danger.
He didnt finish his sentence, but Bella understood all too well.
He was threatening her, or rather, stating a fact!
She stood there, stunned, feeling Edwards unmasked paranoia for the first time.
"Now, can we go back?" With a gentle push, the overly shocked Bella fell into the car, and it sped off with her inside.
When Bella found herself sitting on the sofa in the apartment, she hadnt yet recovered from her fear. Edward, bustling about in the kitchen, only added to her chills.
She watched as his long, pale fingers selected a sharp knife from a full set of surgical tools. A flash of cold light, and in moments, the chicken in front of him was cleanly dissected, its bones neatly arranged into a complete skeleton on the cutting board.
Edward Cullen, a globally renowned genius surgeon, treated such a process as if it were childs play.
Bella couldnt help but scoot further away from Edward.
She didnt know if the set of surgical knives he held would one day be used on her...
When the aroma of roast chicken filled the air, she had no appetite. The helpless chicken reminded her of herself.
"Bella, what are you doing just sitting there? Come and have dinner," Edward said, placing the dinner tray on the table and guiding the dazed Bella to sit down.
Looking at the meticulously arranged cutlery and glassware next to the dinner plate, she felt an overwhelming fear. What kind of man had she gotten involved with?
Watching her distracted appearance, Edwards eyes darkened for a moment, but he still smiled as he fed her the already cut meat.
"Come on, Bella, open your mouth~"
Facing his spring breeze-like smile, Bella opened her mouth conditionally, the taste was bland.
She had intended to refuse, but she had accepted it out of habit.
Habit, how terrifying!
How could she get used to Edward Cullen, this demon?
Finally, when Edward left for surgery, Bella forced a smile as she bid him farewell.
She immediately turned back to her room, took out her phone, and dialed her mothers number.
"Mom, come take me home, please?"
"Were traveling abroad recently. Why do you suddenly want to come home? Did you have a fight with Edward?"
"Mom, I dont want to stay here anymore, I want to go home."
"Whats this about, dear? Edward is such a good man. He even paid for our trip abroad. Hes so filial and capable. Whats there to be upset about? You two are getting married next year."
"What? Getting married?!"
"Oh, Ive let the cat out of the bag. Edward was planning to surprise you..."
Bella couldnt hear anything her mother said after that. All she could think about was getting married to Edward.
Her parents, her best friend, they all stood on Edwards side, saying she was making a fuss for no reason. It seemed like a huge mistake for her to want to leave Edward.
She felt utterly alone, with no one around her understanding her pain. She absolutely could not live her life like this!
So she would run! As far away as possible!
She would go to a place where Edward Cullen could not find her!
