“Daisy, leukemia isnt a death sentence; if we can find a matching bone marrow...” Nick Carraways voice on the other end of the line was somewhat urgent.

“Nick! I dont want a third person to know about this.” Daisy clutched the phone, her hand trembling slightly.

“Daisy, where are you?” Nick Carraway gripped the test report anxiously.

“Consider it a plea from me, alright?” Daisys choked voice was filled with entreaty.

“Sigh, you... alright.”

Daisy disconnected the call, tears streaming down like broken pearls.

She was living to atone, and perhaps it was finally time for divine intervention to set her free.

Rain drizzled from the sky, soaking Daisy Buchanan as she aimlessly wandered the sparse sidewalks, a soulless doll with an empty body.

After a while, she composed herself and headed towards Seaview Sanatorium.

She didnt have much time left, but she needed to make arrangements for her mother first.

However, before she could reach the sanatorium, she received an urgent call from the director.

“Miss Buchanan, your mother was taken away by a strange man who claimed to be your uncle. We tried to call you, but you were on the phone. Your mother didnt refuse, so we didnt intervene...”

Daisy aimlessly wandered the streets, her eyes searching for that familiar figure, the directors words echoing in her mind.

It had been a month since anyone in Seaview was willing to help them, let alone the fact that she had never had an uncle. Daisy was frantic.

As the sky darkened, her mother was nowhere to be found, and drenched Daisy returned to Gatsby Mansion.

She anxiously approached the study.

Inside, Jay Gatsby was examining the documents in his hand, not even sparing a glance for Daisy as she entered.

“Jay, Id like... to ask for your help in finding my mother. This afternoon, she was taken away by a stranger from the sanatorium.”

Daisy clenched her fists, trying to steady her breath, but there was still a hint of nervousness.

“Get out!” Jay Gatsbys icy eyes stared at Daisy, his reply only two simple words.

Her canary yellow dress was soaked through by the rain, clinging to every inch of her skin, the wound on her knee slightly swollen and red, her pale face etched with anxiety.

“Please, Jay, my mother has been missing since this afternoon, and its already evening now.” Her cold hands reached for his arm, her eyes filled with hope.

“Shut up! Dont ever let me hear you say Jay again.”

“Our wedding turned into my fathers funeral, and your father was the culprit. A month hasnt been enough for you to realize who you are?”

Jay Gatsby abruptly shook his hand, his crimson eyes seeming to want to swallow her alive.

Daisy fell heavily to the ground, looking at Jay Gatsbys hateful eyes, she gritted her teeth, knelt, and kowtowed, pleading, “Mr. Gatsby, please, it was an accident, please be magnanimous, please help my mother.”

“Get out! Get out of my sight!”

Watching her kowtow, he was inexplicably agitated.

In this month, he had helped Gatsby Enterprises overcome the crisis and once again ascend to the top of the Seaview economy.

A months time, he thought she had learned her lesson, had seen her place, but it seemed she hadnt changed at all.

Daisys trembling voice rose and fell with the sound of her kowtows.

“Daisy, get up.” Catherine "Kitty" Genovese, hearing the noise, quickly walked from the doorway to Daisys side, trying to help her up.

Daisy looked at her gratefully but shook her hand off, refusing, and continued to kowtow and plead.

“Brother, please help Daisy!” Catherine "Kitty" Genovese pleaded softly.

“Its late, dont worry about it, go rest,” Jay Gatsby gently stroked Catherine "Kitty" Genoveses hair, his voice tender.

“Please, please help me...” Daisy looked up, her pale forehead seeping with several lines of alarming blood.

“Brother, Daisy is innocent, please help... ah...”

Catherine "Kitty" Genovese clutched her chest, her body curling up in pain in an instant.

“Kitty, its okay, dont be afraid, Im here...” Jay Gatsby picked her up, bypassed Daisy who was kneeling on the ground, and hurried away.
