In the Grand Hotel restroom, within a confined stall, a scene was unfolding.
Mackenzie Lin knelt on the cold tiles.
"Bold of you, daring to flirt with another man right in front of me. Your lowly nature really shows everywhere," Drake Howard pinched her chin, his tone a mix of mockery and punishment.
Her voice was fragmented: "I didnt..."
Drake Howard barked, "Still dare to deny it! You and Jason Lowe were flirting right under my nose, did you think I wouldnt notice?"
"Hes just... my escort..." Mackenzie Lin struggled to explain.
"Escort?" Drake Howards voice rose, full of doubt, "Who gave you permission to have an escort?"
"You have a fianc茅e, so whats wrong with me having an escort!" she whispered back at him, a mix of accusation and a venting of her pent-up grievances. Today was the engagement party of Drake Howard and Felicity Lin.
One was the man she had loved for ten years, and the other was her half-sister.
Although Mackenzie Lin didnt know why he had suddenly dragged her here in the middle of the banquet, it didnt alleviate her pain at all; instead, it intensified her humiliation.
Drake Howard grabbed her hair and pulled, "Ive always said youre my dog. Without my permission, youre not allowed to interact with anyone. You have no choice but to obey me. This is the price for you drugging me five years ago and causing Felicity to have a mental breakdown!"
However, at that moment, clear footsteps were heard.
The sound of high heels on the tiles was particularly crisp.
"Mom, help me get my phone, I need to use the restroom," the voice was all too familiar to her, it was Felicity!
And the mom she referred to was their mother, Minerva Xu.
Mackenzie Lin quickly covered her mouth, not allowing herself to make a sound.
If Felicity saw them like this, that young lady would probably throw a tantrum, and in the end, it would still be Mackenzie Lin who suffered!
But the man who should have been more nervous than her was calm and composed.
Just then, Felicity chose their stall first and pushed the door.
Of course, the door wouldnt budge, but just thinking about Felicity being less than a meter away made her heart nearly jump out of her chest.
Then Felicity went into the stall next door, startling her so much that her heart almost stopped, and a voice came from the other side asking, "Whos there?"
