The Princes of Ravenwood

The weather was pleasant, with a clear blue sky and fluffy white clouds. Elmsville had a nice ambiance, peaceful yet not quite harmonious, but it had its own unique tranquility. The slower pace of the city was welcoming.

On the streets, the sycamores warmly greeted every newcomer, with fallen leaves dancing in the wind. Jane Smith, her Chinese name given by her mother before she passed away, had a meaning that was self-evident, but her father didnt see it that way, did he?

The somewhat plain and unremarkable school gate in front of her was the destination. Blackwood High, right? She smiled faintly, it was a good choice, that school.

Perhaps Uncle Cheng would notice something, but that didnt matter; he wouldnt tell Father Smith.

So, it was time to begin her high school life.

It wasnt the start of a new semester since she had delayed a bit, and now it was already the second semester of her freshman year. Well, this city was quite hot.

"I heard were getting a new student today in our class?" said one student.

"Yeah, I heard that too. Its a girl, I wonder what she looks like?" another replied.

"Hello everyone, my name is New One Fan, and I hope we can all get along well," Jane said, standing at the door, not reacting much to the whispers.

"Ah, I thought shed be some beautiful girl, but shes just so-so, although her red hair is quite bright. Where did she dye it?" some boys commented.

Jane smiled slightly, thinking that this was the kind of ordinary she wanted.

The teacher, after a sigh, said, "You can sit over there!" and pointed to a corner.

"Okay," Jane responded.

"Alright, everyone, stop talking. Class is starting!" the teacher instructed.

The classes were boring, but Jane pretended to listen attentively and take notes, while her mind was wandering in space. Although dull, the atmosphere was harmonious, and everyone seemed to get along well.

"Ah, finally home," Jane said as she entered her newly purchased apartment, a two-bedroom, one-living room place that was clean and bright.

She took out a notebook and organized her observations from the day, noting the personalities of her classmates without really listening to their opinions.

The names were yet to be matched.

There were a few good-looking guys in the class. In Janes opinion, if they were good-looking, they definitely wouldnt be ordinary. What intrigued her was that they didnt seem like regular people.

"Theres more to discuss..." she sighed and lay on the bed.

"Why cant I find a rose that never wilts,

Why do the princes I meet never live up to their titles,

Im not expecting glass slippers and a white horse,

What surprises me is how sweet nothings turn into lies,

Hmm, where did she put her phone? She found it and saw a call from Nia.

"Hello, darling, how is it going over there?" Nias voice was as seductive and enchanting as always.

Jane smiled slightly. "Hehe, not bad, just that the school is too hot. Hows it going there?" she asked while turning on the air conditioner.

After a few casual chats, they hung up.

"Its only nine oclock, so I should familiarize myself with the area. People here go to bed really early," Jane muttered, grabbing her keys and stepping out of her home.

She rode her electric bike, which she had bought when she first arrived, around the neighborhood and spotted a bar. She hadnt been to a bar for a while, being busy with her escape from home.

"Minors are not allowed," the person at the entrance stopped her.

Minor? Although she was indeed underage, no one had stopped her before. However, looking at her clothes, she had changed her style to appear ordinary, and it seemed to have worked.

At that moment, a casual-looking man approached. He wasnt handsome, but he was passable. It was just that lecherous look on his face that was off-putting.

"Hey, little sister, you want to go in? Let big brother take you in, huh?" The man with multicolored hair looked at Jane.

Jane was speechless. Why did Charlies hair look so aesthetically pleasing and dreamy, while this persons just felt awkward?

"No, I want to go home," she thought, considering that being with such a person for long would be unbearable. Although he was somewhat good-looking, he couldnt compare to the British Nobles, not even remotely, because there was simply no comparison.

"But how can that be? I said Id take you in, and if you dont go in, people will laugh at me, saying I cant even bring a little girl into my own place," he said, addressing the bouncer, who cautiously replied, "Wolfs people can definitely get in."

Jane inwardly scoffed. If she went in, it would mean admitting she was one of Wolfs people.

However, she didnt want to make things difficult because Wolf seemed to be a local figure, and having a bad relationship with him could lead to endless trouble.

She felt frustrated. Didnt she look quite ordinary?

She took a closer look at the so-called Wolf. The strong smell of alcohol and his dilated pupils suggested he was drunk.

"What if I dont go in?" Jane asked softly.

"You have to go in today, whether you want to or not," he said angrily, his breath reeking of alcohol.

Jane stepped back slightly, frowning. Another trouble was upon her, and she was contemplating how to handle the situation.
