  ADAM

I made a face of irritation as I tried to figure out who was phoning me at that precise moment.

"Where did you get that? It's the middle of the night, and who the fuck is it that's calling at this ungodly hour?" I rumbled something angry and searched around for my phone. After being awakened, I didn't waste any time finding out who had called me by looking at the caller ID.

"What exactly are you looking for, Scott?" I enquired angrily while wiping my forehead and frowning.

"I'm sorry to wake you up, but if you could please help me out, I'd really appreciate it." Because he had disrupted my sleep, I wanted to smack him in the face and in the groin.

Before giving my response, I let out a long sigh. This individual is testing the limits of my capacity for tolerance.

"Exactly what does it consist of?" I inquired in a composed manner, making an effort not to lose my composure.

"Are you able and willing to pick up my cousin at the airport where she will be arriving? I'm sorry, but I can't get a hold of him right now since I'm working on a project at my office that really ought to be your responsibility."

"Okay! When is it, and at which airport is it currently located?" After some deliberation, I gave in.

He provided the time as well as the location that his cousin would be arriving.

At the airport, it's 8:00 in the morning...

I have been sitting here on this bench for the better part of an hour at this point. I remained cool during the entire hour as I waited for the plane to touch down at 8:00 a.m., which Scott had indicated me would be the estimated time of arrival.

When I turned around suddenly, there was a man standing in front of me.

The individual standing in front of me yelled, "Adam, man!"

After raising the left eyebrow on my right side, I questioned, "Yes?"

"It's good to meet you, my name is Keiro, and I hope we can be friends. Remember? Who are Scott's ancestors, exactly?" He does it by pointing to himself whenever he is given the opportunity to introduce himself.

After getting to my feet, I decided to give him a gentle blow to the shoulder. Already an adult, he has attained this milestone in his life. This person is absolutely foreign to me. I have no prior experience with them.

"Man! Where exactly did that serve a useful purpose?" I gave him a blow to that area, and he yelled and held it as I struck it.

"It's only to keep me waiting," she replied.

We share a thoughtful glance for a little moment before breaking out laughing, which draws the attention of those who are nearby to us as they stare in our direction.

"Oh, no! You didn't make any more mistakes, which is very impressive. I am never able to live up to people's expectations ". He wails and calls out in a childish fashion. In spite of the fact that he appeared different on the outside, he was still at an age where he was able to think.

I gave him a sneer and said, "Because I'm good," which made him roll his eyes in response.

"In point of fact, you are not. I have no choice but to hide those beautiful eyes of mine. I can't help it. Take a long, hard look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself if you really want people to call you a hermit just because you resemble one." After he has finished delivering those words, he immediately breaks out into a fit of laughter.

"Stop talking! You should take your belongings with you, but you shouldn't count on any kind of aid from me." I made a 180-degree turn and went away, leaving him with nothing but complaints in the process.

As we were leaving, I looked back and saw a lady heading toward us carrying a suitcase while dressed in a red dress. She was crossing our path. When I first saw her face, my heart started racing, and when our gazes met, I went completely motionless.

It is in fact her, and she is the only one responsible for it.

I made a mad sprint in her direction. I was completely oblivious to Keiro, who was shrieking at me. My only piece of information is that she has come back, and that she is still alive and has not been killed. I did not care to apologise to everyone that I encountered on my way. till I get a hold of her wrist and turn her body so that she is facing me. It hasn't quite sunk in yet that it's actually her. I solemnly swear that I am not making any of this up.

"Adam," she said, just loud enough for me to pick up on it.

"Do you recognize me?" I inquired while keeping my focus on her face. She calls out my name, and I am able to hear it as it exits her mouth.

She yelled "no!" as she struggled to extricate herself from his grasp while he held her tightly.

I clinched my teeth and said, "You say my name," as she tightened her grip on her shoulders.

"I-I really have no idea who you are. Permit me to be on my way!" She screamed and then bolted away.

It's like I was immobilized when I was at my previous spot, so I don't know why I didn't follow her to try to feel my own feet. I did nothing but look at her till she disappeared from my line of sight.

In spite of the fact that she just uttered my name under her breath, she now shouts it out loud. My name is pronounced really loudly and clearly by her, and I believe that I picked up on it correctly.

"Adam! Who are you interested in?" Keiro appeared out of nowhere. I almost forgot I was with him.

"Nothing," I said as I continued to look down the street in the direction that Mirana had gone.

"Okay? Should we even bother? I'm ravenous and in severe need of sleep, jet lag buddy, "He uttered those words while appearing sleepy.

"Let's go fetch your luggage, and then we'll load it into the car," you said.

As he unlocked the front door of the car, he greeted me with a question: "What are you waiting for?"

I have no doubt that it was her because she is still alive. When she mentions my name, though, she repeatedly claims that she isn't familiar with me, and I'm not sure why this is. Why did she swear that she was completely unaware of who I was? I have a lot of questions, and I'm hoping that they'll all be answered.

Mirana, you've just returned to my life. I'll forgive you for whatever you've done. Just come back.
