The Illusion of Love and Dreams

"What are you doing here, Rhett?"

In the cold and dim dungeon, the woman hanging on the torture rack was covered in blood, only raising her eyes to look at the man standing in front of her.

"Scarlett, you once cried out that you wanted to marry me, why now, you dont even want to see me?" Rhett looked at Scarlett with a mocking smile.

"Ha ha ha... cough cough, Rhett, I was blind to fall for you, which led to my fathers tragic death and the charge of treason, resulting in the execution of my entire family! The Kennedy Familys disaster is all because of you, and you still have the face to ask why I dont want to see you?" Scarletts eyes were filled with hatred as she stared fiercely at Rhett, "Do you know, I now wish to carve your flesh and eat your bones, to let you also taste this heart-wrenching and bone-corroding pain."

"Scarlett, is this painful for you? Compared to the suffering I have endured because of your Kennedy Family, its far from enough," Rhett said with a sarcastic face, "Do you remember when your father led the troops to slaughter my family, I witnessed with my own eyes how those soldiers killed and set fires! I also remember clearly the scene of corpses everywhere and blood flowing like a river! You cant stand it now just by hearing about the execution of your family?"

"...So it is, Rhett, the Rockefeller Family! So you are from the Rockefeller Family. No wonder you hate the Kennedy Family so much!" Scarlett suddenly realized.

Rhett looked at Scarlett and said fiercely, "Do you know how I have been living in the past fifteen years? Do you know how it felt to watch your family reunion while my heart was like being stabbed by a knife? I should have been living that kind of life too, with a loving father and a filial son, brothers caring for each other! But now, its all gone! Everything is gone! Do you know that I havent slept soundly in these fifteen years? Every time I close my eyes, I see that hellish scene! Parents dying miserably! Home destroyed and family dead! All because of your father!"

Scarlett looked at Rhetts mad appearance and was silent for a while, "Then do you know that you can live to this day, all because my father let you go!"

"Let me go? How do you know he was kind to let me go? Or did he have ulterior motives?"

Hearing Rhetts response, Scarlett felt bitter inside, looked up to the sky and said, "Father, do you know in the afterlife? The situation of our Kennedy Family now is because of your compassion? You left a trace of the Rockefeller blood, and also left a disaster for the Kennedy Family to be wiped out! I was also stupid, this obvious clue was right in front of me, but I turned a blind eye."

Rhett looked at the painful Scarlett and shouted towards the distance, "Someone come, I see this criminal seems to know something more, if you cant get it out of her mouth, then I will report to the Emperor and say that you guys are in cahoots with the Kennedy Family, conspiring to rebel against the country."

"Yes, Mr. Rockefeller," several prison guards trembled as they answered.

Hearing the answer, Rhett nodded with satisfaction, turned around, and walked out of the dungeon.

Behind him came the screams and Scarletts cursing voice, "Ah... Rhett, you will not die a good death..."

Scarlett endured the pain of the punishment, her eyes tightly staring at Rhetts back as he turned and left.

"Die a good death? Death is such a luxury for me. Scarlett, after all this, how can you still not understand me?" Rhett thought to himself, but he quickened his pace, and he kept muttering, "This voice is really noisy."
