Edward Cullen was shocked by the scene inside the room as soon as he entered. Without a word, he slapped Anastasia across the face.
"Bitch, what have you done to Isabella?!"
Anastasias eyes welled up with tears, her expression full of grievance: "Edward... I dont know..."
Edward snorted coldly, pushed her away, and lifted Isabella out of the water. He carefully laid her on the bed and covered her.
"Get out!"
Anastasia left the room "heartbroken," but as soon as she stepped out of the door, the tears in her eyes disappeared, replaced by a cold smirk.
Edward, dont rush, its your turn next.
As Anastasia turned the corner outside the room, a hand suddenly reached out, pulling her into a spin. Before she could react, she found herself pressed against the wall, staring into a pair of hawk-like eyes.
It was him!
Jamie Fraser, one of the three young commanders, the dream lover of countless young women in the nation.
Anastasia was flustered, wondering why she had encountered him so soon. Was it because she had changed the course of her previous life?
Seeing the handprint on her face, Jamies eyes darkened as he lifted her chin.
"Did he hit you?"
Anastasia dared not look into Jamies eyes any longer; she lowered her gaze, tears welling up in her eyes.
Seeing Jamies face brought back the memories of her past life.
That year in the peach blossom forest, Jamie walked towards her from the depths of the blossoms, brushing away the petals from her head with a charming smile.
He said, "Yoori, my wife, Im home."
"Youre mistaken, Im not Yoori, nor your wife, I have a husband."
"Yoori, its okay if you dont remember, youll remember eventually."
The scene shifted to a Cullen Mansion filled with corpses and the stench of blood.
When she was dying from illness, Jamie slaughtered the entire Cullen family for her.
An enraged Edward tried to kill her, the source of the disaster, but he blocked the bullet meant for her with his body.
Even in death, Jamie kept smiling and said, "Its an honor to die with you."
In the midst of the bloodshed, with the intense stimulation, she remembered everything about her and Jamie just before death.
It turned out that she had been married before, she was already Jamies wife.
At that time, everyone knew of their deep love. The ruthless young commander was tender only towards her.
But later, Jamie went to war to quell a military rebellion, and when he returned, everything had changed.
These past events flashed through her mind, and Anastasia could no longer control her tears, which flowed freely.
Jamie was flustered and said, "Yoori, dont cry, Ill fight back for you!"
Listening to his childlike words, Anastasia couldnt help but laugh.
Who would have thought that the formidable Commander Fraser would act like a young lad in front of her?
"Youd cause a death with that slap."
Jamies eyes lit up with hope. "You remembered?"
Hearing his question, Anastasia was taken aback and quickly composed herself.
Jamie had returned from the battlefield already injured; she couldnt let him stand in front of her and get involved in the dangerous situation at the Cullen Mansion, ending up like in her past life.
These grudges, these resentments, she had to take revenge by herself.
Edward and Isabella owed her, and she would claim it herself.
With this realization, she forced herself to put on a cold face.
"Famous young commander of Fen City, who doesnt know? What is it that you want me to remember?"
Jamies shining eyes dimmed instantly, and a sense of loneliness enveloped him.
After all, she still didnt remember him...
He stiffly forced a smile and gripped her shoulders: "Yoori, its me, Im back!"
Anastasia coldly brushed away his hands and turned her head, unable to bear looking at his eyes filled with sorrow.
"Commander Fraser, I dont know any Yoori. I am now the mistress of the Cullen Mansion. Please... respect boundaries."
"Respect boundaries?"
Jamie staggered back two steps, a desolate smile on his lips.
"Yoori, its okay if you dont remember, youll remember eventually."
This phrase, identical to what he had said in her past life, stirred up a storm within Anastasia. She was about to lose control of her act.
"I dont know what youre talking about. I have matters to attend to at the Cullen Mansion, I must leave."
Anastasia left these words behind and hurriedly fled the scene.
She was afraid that if she stayed in front of him any longer, she would not be able to help but rush into his arms and pour out her grievances and injustices.
Anastasia ran all the way back to her bedroom in the Cullen Mansion, locked the doors and windows, and wept aloud.
After a while, the grief from seeing Jamie for the first time had been vented. She woke up from her bed, groggy, and looked at the dark sky outside the window, letting out a cold laugh.
Edward, its time you paid the price for that slap.
She was no longer the Anastasia from her past life, to be beaten and scolded at will.
She got up, changed into a set of night clothes, and stealthily avoided the guards to come to Edwards study at the Cullen Mansion.
By the moonlight, she found the secret room and retrieved the real account books of the Cullen familys businesses over the years. After a quick glance, a brighter smile spread across Anastasias face.
She put away the account book and had just stepped out of the secret room when she heard footsteps approaching outside!
Was it Edward returning?
Damn it!
With no place to hide in the spacious study and the sound of footsteps getting closer, Anastasias heart raced in panic.
Suddenly, she was swept up into someones arms, and with a leap, they ascended to the rafters.
Looking up in shock, the familiar profile made her relax instantly.
Then she sighed bitterly; Jamie Fraser, the fool, had followed her after all.
Below, Edward only circled around the study, picked up a book, and left.
After Edward had gone far enough, Jamie helped her jump down from the rafters, but once they were steady, he held her close, unwilling to let go.
Anastasia couldnt help but remind him, "Commander Fraser, hes long gone. You can let me go now."
