Taking advantage of Ethan Zhens absence in the bathroom, Grace Yan reached into the drawer for a small bottle of pills, intending to swallow one, when a hand suddenly grasped her wrist from behind.

She started, meeting Ethans piercing gaze that seemed to see through everything, and her heart trembled.

"What are you taking?" he asked.

Grace lowered her head in panic, stammering, "Vitamins."

"Is that so? Let me try one," Ethan reached for the bottle, but she clutched it so tightly her knuckles turned white.

He sneered, his eyes now filled with a pervasive coldness.

"No wonder weve never had a child."

"Im sorry, I cant..."

"Cant or dont want to?"

Ethan suddenly grabbed her slender, pale neck.

So delicate, so fragile, so hateful!

"Who is the man in your heart that made you leave me five years ago, and youre still waiting for him, still refusing to have a child with me?"

Three years apart, two years married, a total of five years!

Ethans jealousy was driving him mad, and all reason collapsed when he saw Grace taking birth control pills.

Since their reunion, he had never truly hurt her, but the truth was, this woman was not worth his kindness.

Graces face flushed red, wanting to say it wasnt like that, it wasnt what he thought!

But she couldnt bring herself to say it, let him misunderstand, she would never regret her choice...

Feeling the air in her lungs being quickly sucked away, feeling suffocated and about to faint, Grace struggled.

Ethan quietly watched her distress, thats how it should be, the prey in his hand should struggle for the fun of it, knowing its futile.

His hand suddenly released, letting her fall softly to the ground, gasping heavily.

Grace, with red eyes, whispered, "If you want me dead, its just a matter of saying it, dont get into trouble because of me."

Ethans hands still retained her warmth, and his frozen heart showed signs of melting uncontrollably.

She always did this, saying something inexplicable when he thought she didnt love him, touching him.

"Ill give you one last chance."

His gaze moved to the bottle that had rolled to the floor, the meaning was clear.

Grace forcefully held back her tears and the truth of that year, picked up the bottle, poured out the pill, and swallowed it dry.

Her heart and eyes were full of bitterness.

Ethan was pained by this slow-motion scene, his heart freezing over again.

"Good, very good, Grace Yan, this is your choice."

He would never be manipulated by her again.

Never.

"Then you dont need to take the pill anymore, there are plenty of women who are willing."

Ethans eyes showed a hint of anger, turned, and left in big strides.

If he stayed any longer, he would really not be able to resist strangling her.

The loud "bang" of the door closing seemed to shake the whole western-style house.

Hearing the sound of the car starting and leaving outside, Graces eyes, which were numb, finally shed large tears.

Ethan left and did not come back for two full months.

When he reappeared, he was holding a woman in his arms, flirtatious and indifferent.

"Julie is pregnant with my child and will live here from today on, and you will serve her."

The smile on Graces face that had not yet bloomed froze, and her face turned pale instantly.

Ethan felt a strange sense of pleasure in his heart, such a Grace seemed to care about him.

"Isnt this inappropriate? Maybe we should hire a maid..." Julie said, a bit embarrassed.

"The child will be registered under her name in the future, whats the problem with serving you?"

This statement made Julie clench her fists, a flash of resentment in her eyes.
