Tangled Love-A Tale of Betrayal and Redemption

Clothes were scattered throughout the living room, leading all the way to the bedroom door, which was ajar. Indistinct sounds emanated from within. Scarlett OHara stood there, staring at the torn garments, a mocking smile playing on her lips.

Inside the bedroom, a man and a woman were entwined on the large bed, the womans intermittent moans mixing with the sound of water. Scarlett gently pushed the door open, forcing herself to look directly at the oblivious couple.

Rhett Butler, her fiancé.

What a performance, Scarlett thought.

Rhett was in the final throes, so he didnt see Scarlett, but Melanie did. Instead of being shocked, she raised herself higher, tightened her hold on the man, and flashed a provocative smile at Scarlett.

Scarlett found it all ridiculously absurd, so she approached, raised her leg, and aimed the Thin heel of her shoe at Rhetts waist.

"Rhett Butler, have you no shame?" Scarlett shouted, watching the mans shocked expression as he wilted beneath her.

"Scarlett OHara, are you crazy?" Rhett climbed off the bed, his hand swinging to slap her.

Melanie also sat up, pulling a blanket to cover herself, but the bruises on her skin were exposed, a testament to her victory.

The disparity in strength meant Scarlett was at a disadvantage, struck to the ground by Rhetts blow, her long hair spreading around her, an oddly captivating sight.

"If you hadnt been so prudish, I wouldnt have had to resort to this, Scarlett. If you come to your senses now, we could share a bed, and that wouldnt be so bad," Rhett said, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

But it was just about playing with women, wasnt it? Rhett thought bitterly, his gaze lingering on Scarletts figure, feeling a stirring in his loins.

Scarlett stood up, looking at him coldly: "Rhett Butler, youre disgusting."

The next moment, she was pushed against the wall by the man with an ugly expression, hearing him say viciously, "Dont bite the hand that feeds you. Were engaged. Youll be mine sooner or later, so stop pretending!"

Scarletts eyes cooled, relieved that she and Rhett had not taken that final step, that she had seen the true face of this man.

"Rhett, if you dare force yourself on me, I swear Ill bring the Butlers to ruin, and I mean it."

As a notable designer in New York City, Scarlett was not someone to be trifled with. The media was always on the lookout for scandals, and a story involving her would be sure to make headlines.

At that moment, Melanies sweet voice interrupted: "Rhett, since Scarlett is unwilling, dont force her. We can send her to a better place."

Rhett looked over, suspicion in his eyes as he asked, "What place?"

Melanies lips curled into a sinister smile as she suggested, "You could give her to that young master from the Cullen family. The cooperation between the Butlers and the Cullens would be sealed, and as for Scarlett, she wouldnt have a pleasant time."

When Scarlett heard who she was talking about, alarm bells went off in her mind. She shook off Rhetts hand and said coldly, "Never."

Rhett hesitated, reluctant to give up Scarlett so easily.

After much deliberation, Rhett gritted his teeth and turned back to say, "Scarlett, if you dont go, I promise youll never see your little brat again!"

The blood drained from Scarletts face.
