The night was cool as water, the waning moon like a hook.

Grant Family Mansion.

May Morris lay pale and curled up on the bed, her stomach throbbing with unbearable pain, cold sweat drenching her back.

She... seemed to be in labor.

Moans of agony echoed through the entire mansion, and soon after, the bedroom door was kicked open.

May struggled to prop herself up, and a tall figure appeared before her鈥擭athaniel Grant, the father of her child.

He looked down at her coldly and instructed his assistant, "Contact the hospital immediately and prepare for bone marrow matching tests."

Mays heart jolted, a terrible thought spreading within her.

Her eyes widened in disbelief as she said, "Nathaniel, what are you saying?"

The man did not respond, signaling for the people behind him to take her away.

Two or three men approached and restrained her; May struggled, "What are you going to do with me? Could it be... you made me pregnant just for Grace Zhaos child?"

Nathaniel still did not speak, his cold eyes devoid of any emotion, yet confirming her suspicions.

Mays heart raced with panic as she broke free from those who held her.

She fell to the ground, desperately clutching at his pant leg, tears in her eyes, "Nathaniel, believe me! I didnt do that thing, please dont harm our flesh and blood..."

The man merely glanced at her coldly, severing her last hope with a sharp and cruel gesture: "Take her away."

Mays hand paused, her eyes filling with despair as a tear rolled down her cheek.

"Nathaniel... this is your own flesh and blood!"

Despite Mays pleas and struggles, she was forcibly taken to the Grant familys private hospital.

In the labor room, May suffered unbearably, three hours passed, and the child had not yet been born, prompting the doctor to come out for consultation.

At that moment, Grace Zhao rushed in.

As soon as she arrived, she frowned in dissatisfaction, "Nathaniel, why hasnt it been born yet! My Kevin cant wait any longer, the doctor said Kevin has at most three years..."

As she spoke, her emotions collapsed, and she was in tears.

"Rest assured, I wont let anything happen to Kevin," Nathaniel comforted her, then turned to the doctor, "Go in and tell her, if she still cant give birth, let her lie in the hospital and join her adoptive mother in death."

The doctor relayed Nathaniels words to May, and the woman, already exhausted and on the brink of death, suddenly looked panicked.

So in his eyes, she didnt even have the right to die.

May couldnt let her mother be implicated because of her, so she gritted her teeth, exerted herself again, and gave birth to the child, passing out from the effort.

The doctor came out with the child, and Nathaniel didnt even glance at it, instructing, "Send it for matching immediately."

He paused, then asked, "How is she?"

The doctor replied, "The patient has a large wound, excessive bleeding, and has passed out; she is being resuscitated."

He frowned, feeling a strange sensation in his heart, and said in a deep voice, "She must not die before the matching result is successful."

The doctor, sweating profusely, nodded vigorously, "We will do our utmost."

Three days later, May woke up.

"Where is my child?" she frantically felt around, every movement causing unbearable pain, her lower body.

Nathaniel stood by the bedside, his eyes as calm as a deep pond: "Its dead."
