The torturous mockery came to an end, and Ethan Hunter returned to the villa with a cold laugh, leaving Lily Thompsons punishment far from over. The sky darkened, and the icy rain did not cease.

Inside the master bedroom on the second floor of the villa, the clocks hands pointed to midnight as Ethan Hunter got up to pour a glass of red wine, sipping it while standing in front of the window, indifferently watching the thin figure kneeling alone in the storm.

His eyes were complex, yet he made no move, only revealing a trace of pain that even he didnt realize when Lily swayed and fell, then struggled to get back up.

As the first rays of morning light illuminated the sky, Lily had already fainted at the entrance of the villa. Her face was pale without a hint of blood color, her disheveled long hair wetly clinging to her cheeks, making her appear even more pitiable.

But no one would pity her; even her husband of three years just coldly walked up after opening the door and mercilessly kicked her awake.

"Lily Thompson, have you learned to play the victim now?" Ethan sneered, "Its just a night of rain outside; who are you putting on this pitiful act for?"

Ethan refused to believe that Lily was so frail. His narrow eyes slightly narrowed as he walked straight to the garage, leaving behind a heartless remark: "The punishment is over. You can get lost now, dont disgrace me here."

The surroundings fell silent, and the words that caused him unbearable pain were no longer heard.

Lily rubbed her cold, stiff legs, attempting to stand. But her body, which had been kneeling for a day and a night without any food, was already at its last gasp, not to mention the injury on her leg. The moment she stood up, she lost her strength and fell straight to the ground.

Her head hit the step with a thud, and Lilys breath hitched from the pain, but all that escaped her scorched throat was a muted, agonizing hiss.

Her hand trembled as it reached for the back of her head, feeling the warm liquid that seemed to burn her cold fingertips!

Her vision grew darker, and Lily bit her lower lip so hard it bled.

She couldnt just collapse here; she had to survive. She had to find evidence in the future to prove she hadnt killed Snow Thompson, had to... let Ethan know that her heart never harbored any darkness, only him, filled to the brim!

With the last of her strength, she took out her phone and called Ethan for help, her voice trembling before she blacked out again.

When she woke up again, she felt as if her body was disintegrating with every sway of the vehicle.

The slightest movement drew a painful groan from her, immediately provoking mockery from the front seat: "Quite the act, Lily Thompson. A little rain at most gives you a cold, and youre pulling this stunt? Haha..."

Lily opened her mouth to say something, but as her lips parted, she suddenly realized that since their wedding night, Ethan had never believed her explanations.

All her energy crumbled in an instant, and Lily lay there, drenched in cold sweat, silent in the back seat.

Ethans face darkened with frustration when met with silence. He suddenly slammed on the gas, angrily turned the steering wheel, and parked on the side of the road. Once the car stopped, he quickly got out, opened the back door, and dragged Lily out, throwing her onto the ground.

"You said you were dying, right? If youre going to die, die out here. Dont die in my house, dirt my place," he condescendingly said, looking at Lily with disdain before getting back in his car and driving away.

Watching him leave, tears fell from Lilys eyes, her painful sobs filled with a womans despair.

There was nothing left to look forward to.

She couldnt hold on anymore.
