"How dare you, servant? Dont you want to live? You dare to touch me."
These were the first words out of Emily Owens mouth when she opened her eyes, causing the nurse about to check on her to be taken aback.
Emily frowned slightly, suspiciously looking around at her surroundings. Everything was white and so bright it was blinding.
The nurse withdrew her hand, stepped back nervously, and patiently explained, "Miss Owens, I just wanted to take your blood pressure."
"I hate when people get close to me. Leave now, or else..." Emily raised her chin, her gaze sharp and threatening.
Her words hung in the air, the threat implicit. The nurse felt helpless; ever since Miss Owens had a close brush with death, she had become antiquated, speaking in such odd ways, probably watching too many historical dramas.
The dean was right; Miss Owens had injured her head, and even if she woke up, she might become a fool.
"No, Miss Owens, I..."
"Are you annoying? Hurry up and leave."
Emily felt pain all over her body, and her mood was foul as well. This woman in a white coat was still chattering away, not knowing that the maid sent by her brother was so bothersome.
"Emily Owens, whats your attitude? Are you looking for trouble as soon as you wake up?"
A cold male voice came in, startling both Emily and the nurse, their gazes turning sharply towards the source.
The nurse saw Ethan Mitchell, the rumored CEO of Mitchell Enterprises, lower his head, her cheeks flushing as her heart fluttered like a deer.
Ethan glanced at her, then at Emily on the bed. "You may leave now."
The nurse, realizing she was being dismissed, quickly put down her medicine, covered her face, and rushed out.
"Who are you? How dare you disrespect me, a princess. Whats the punishment?"
Emily struggled to sit up, glaring angrily at the man in front of her, crossing her arms over her chest, her nostrils flaring, her face clearly saying, "Dont mess with me."
"Do you not recognize me?" Ethan raised an eyebrow, surprised.
Emily snorted, baring her teeth. "Why should I recognize you?"
"Do you know who you are? And how you ended up in the hospital?"
Emily blinked, then looked down in thought.
This wasnt right; she wasnt supposed to be here, was she?
Oh no, Emilys eyes widened suddenly, looking around at the unfamiliar environment and the strange attire of the people around her. She touched her face, her heart pounding as she held her hands in front of her.
These werent her hands; she was certain.
She swallowed hard, quickly composing herself and sorting through the situation, coming to a conclusion.
She had died and come back to life, only to find herself in another persons body, in a strange place.
"Who am I? And who are you to me?" Emily asked coldly, her heart pounding with anxiety.
Ethan sighed, massaging his temple with one hand, and pressed the call button by the bedside; it was time for the doctor to deal with this.
"Mr. Mitchell, Miss Owens has been in a coma for six months, and her body is fine now. Her current condition is likely due to a blow to the head, causing amnesia. During the surgery, Miss Owens had a prolonged period of respiratory arrest, and its a miracle she survived at all. Recovering her memory will take time, and exposing her to things from her past might speed up the process."
Dean Yang removed his mask, speaking matter-of-factly: "Also, her mind is now a blank, and her intelligence may have regressed."
Even if they mentioned a princess, Emily thought to herself, she wouldnt remember. She didnt quite understand what they were saying, but since she was alive, she had to cherish it.
According to what this person said, she had a legitimate reason not to know about her past, which was a fortunate coincidence.
Ethan nodded slightly, his furrowed brows finally easing. "Okay, can I take her home?"
Dean Yang smiled and nodded, "Yes, just come for a check-up once a month. Ill prescribe some medicine for Miss Owens, remember to take it on time."
"Alright."
Dean Yang led a group of people out, and Emilys ears finally quieted down. She sat cross-legged on the bed, contemplating what to do next.
"Your name is Emily Owens, and I am your guardian, Ethan Mitchell. You can call me Brother Xuan. Get dressed, and lets go home. Your sister has been worried about you for a long time."
Ethan Mitchell, guardian? She didnt understand.
Emily looked at him carefully and noticed that he was quite good-looking, and somehow very familiar.
"Dont look, its good that youve lost your memory. You cant cause trouble anymore. I wont have the energy to clean up your messes every day."
"Okay."
Under someone elses roof, one must bow their head! Princess Yao felt that her era of commanding winds and rain was about to pass, so she had to be obedient.
Ethans lips curled into a satisfied smile, and he rubbed her head. The girl finally seemed to understand.
Emily took her clothes and headed to the bathroom, looking at the strange door, not knowing how to open it. Ethan was speechless; she hadnt lost her self-care abilities due to an accident, had she?
He sighed lightly, got up, and went over to help her open the door, "Remember this?"
"I remember."
"Change your clothes."
Emily, with her big eyes blinking, agreed and walked into the bathroom, almost falling inside. Everything in there was unfamiliar, and the floor was slippery. There was also a large mirror that clearly reflected her youthful face.
Everything was real; she had become another person, resurrected in a different body.
Half an hour later, Emily still hadnt come out. Ethan, feeling strange and worried that something had happened to her, knocked on the door a few times, but there was no response.
He directly opened the door and saw a scene that made his mouth twitch uncontrollably.
"What are you doing?"
