"Brother! Hey! Brother, wait for me," gasped the panting voice from behind. A curly-haired little chubby boy stopped breathlessly, bent over to catch his breath, and finally squatted down and burst into tears.

"Waaaaah, brother is a bad egg!"

Walking ahead, Nick Carraway heard the noise and quickly turned around, running to the chubby boy in a few strides.

"Tom Sawyer, my little man, didnt Mom and I remind you every day to exercise more? Look at your size, how will you find a girlfriend in the future?"

Tom Sawyer raised his chubby face, his tearful eyes resenting his brother.

"I dont want a girlfriend, I just want my brother. Brother, dont leave me behind again," he said, stretching out his chubby arms and hugging Nick Carraways thigh.

Nick Carraway couldnt resist this sudden cute attack and was immediately defeated. He carefully wiped away his tears and picked him up.

"Brother will never leave you again. Lets go, Tom, to buy ice cream."

"Yay, going for ice cream!" The chubby boy, Tom Sawyer, changed his expression in a second, happily waving his arms and legs in Nick Carraways arms.

Nick Carraway could only hold his chubby body, wearing a helpless smile.

At the age of five, boys are the most mischievous, including the chubby Tom Sawyer.

In just a moment, he had become restless in Nick Carraways arms.

"Brother, how much further?"

Nick Carraway looked at him speechless, his hair already wet with sweat and sticking to his forehead.

"Phew, well be there soon. Can you stop asking every ten seconds, Tom, the little chubby?"

"Im afraid brother will be tired." Tom Sawyer pouted and played with his fingers in his brothers arms.

Nick Carraway was not moved at all and put the chubby boy down. He instantly felt relaxed all over, as if even the sweat had been blown dry in an instant.

"Should walk by yourself for a while, right?" He looked at his brother seriously.

Tom Sawyer, who was suddenly left on the ground, didnt react for a while, standing there foolishly. Suddenly realizing that his brother didnt want to carry him anymore, his chubby little face twisted together, and he squatted on the ground, refusing to move.

"You dont walk, I will!"

Nick Carraway stood up calmly and walked towards the opposite side of the road. He knew his brother would catch up.

The road was quiet in the evening, and the villa area, which was sparsely populated, was even quieter at this time. There was no car on the wide road, and in the air, there were only their voices and some chirping of birds.

Sure enough, after a while, there came Tom Sawyers urgent shout from behind.

"Brother, wait for me!" The chubby boy struggled to stand up and ran towards his brother on the opposite side.

Nick Carraway smiled slightly, sure enough, he couldnt bear to catch up after a while.

"Bang!" A loud noise suddenly came. Nick Carraway turned his head abruptly and saw only a huge light.

The dazzling high beam extended far in the semi-dark dusk, and that beam of light seemed to stab into Nick Carraways heart.

"Tom! Tom!" Nick Carraway shouted as he ran to the van in front of him. A large pool of blood seeped under the wheel, and he couldnt even see his brothers body.

"Tom!" Nick Carraway knelt on the ground, shouting hoarsely, tears and sweat blurring his eyes. He vaguely saw a man get out of the van, who seemed to be bald. Wearing a black mask. Holding a mobile phone in his hand, he was whispering something.

In the eyes that were the only ones exposed on that face, there was no surprise that should have been there, but instead, they were full of calmness and ruthlessness, even relief.

"Snap!" Nick Carraway finally couldnt hold on, and everything went black before his eyes.
