Atticus Finch was taken aback for a moment, then looked at Daisys belly with suspicion: "Call Dr. Carraway over."
"Yes, sir," the old butler responded.
Dr. Carraway was the Finch familys physician and also Daisys classmate and close friend.
Even though it was midnight, Dr. Carraway arrived at the Finch residence as quickly as possible.
Atticus watched Dr. Carraways anxious appearance and couldnt help but clench his fists.
"Dr. Carraway, my wife seems to be pregnant," Atticus said, emphasizing the words wife and pregnant as if for some particular reason.
"Very well," Dr. Carraway replied.
He then began to examine Daisy.
Atticus, with a stern face, watched the entire process. Daisy felt a little more at ease upon seeing Dr. Carraway.
"Mr. Finch, Mrs. Finch is indeed pregnant. During this period, she should avoid..."
Before he could finish, Atticus interrupted him impatiently, "Dr. Carraway, you may leave."
He found Dr. Carraways hands on Daisy extremely bothersome.
Dr. Carraway frowned, wanting to say something more, but Atticus rudely said, "Butler, show the guest out!"
Daisy touched her neck, feeling that the person who had just grabbed her really wanted to kill her.
She didnt want Dr. Carraway to leave, and meeting his worried gaze, Daisy couldnt help but show a look of reliance.
Atticus, seeing the interaction between the two, became increasingly gloomy and ordered the butler to usher the doctor out.
Dr. Carraway had no choice but to leave first.
"Daisy Buchanan! Do you still have any shame?!" Atticus looked down at her.
"Carrying my child in your womb! Are you thinking about a lover?" Atticuss murderous gaze was icy to the bone.
"Im not!" Daisy felt that Atticus was simply unreasonable!
Was this considered having an affair? What about him! That man was still living in their house!
Seeing Daisys stubborn face, Atticus picked up a teacup from the table and smashed it fiercely at Daisys feet.
"If you dare to have any other thoughts, this will be your end!"
Before Daisy could recover from the shock, Atticus dragged her into the bedroom, threw her onto the bed.
"Before the child is born, you are not allowed to go anywhere!"
With a bang, the bedroom door was slammed shut.
Daisy sneered in her heart. The Finch family was wealthy and powerful; where could she run to?
Not long after, Atticus returned. Daisy was lying on the bed, her eyes closed, feeling Atticus also got into bed, her body stiffened again.
Atticuss long-jointed hand quietly covered Daisys belly.
Daisy became nervous, her mind a mess.
Atticuss expression in the dark night was ambiguous, and no one knew what he was thinking.
After a long time, his hand left.
Daisy also regained her senses, made up her mind to leave this place with the child, away from this demon.
Otherwise, who knows what would happen to her child.
That Tom Robinson, obviously not a simple person.
Daisy thought and thought, and gradually fell asleep.
The night was as dark as ink, with leaden clouds, and soon there were large and small raindrops hitting the windows, occasionally accompanied by thunder or lightning.
The air was filled with humidity, a sign of something big about to happen...
