Late Fall nights should have been quiet, but the cries of a woman shattered the tranquility.

Lily, dressed in a thin shirt, knelt on the hospital room floor in agony, one hand on her nine-month pregnant belly, the other clutching Logans leg. Her voice was hoarse from hours of pleading, yet she persisted, looking up at him, repeating her desperate pleas.

“Logan, give me another month, let me bring our child into this world. After the baby is born, I wont resist whatever you want. You just want me to give my kidney to Daisy, dont you? I will, as long as...”

“Take your dirty hands off me.” Logan, annoyed by Lilys persistence, didnt let her finish. He shook off her hand with a look of disgust, patting his pant leg as he spoke emotionlessly, “Lily, I came to see you today just to inform you that in three days, you will give your kidney to Daisy. Im not here to discuss the timing of the donation. Stay put in this hospital room, and if I find out youre plotting something, youre dead.”

With that, Logan turned to leave.

If he left, she would surely lose her baby. Lily couldnt let him go.

As soon as Logan turned, Lily crawled a few steps and clutched his pant leg again, crying, “Dont go, Logan, please dont be so heartless. For the sake of our three years together, for the sake of the child in my belly thats yours, please spare him this once.”

“Spare the brat in your belly?” Logan sneered, looking down at Lily as if she were a dead dog, “I spare you, who will spare Daisy? Lily, if you hadnt harmed Daisy, why would I now make you sacrifice your child to save her?”

“Its not true, I never harmed Daisy. Daisy brought this upon herself. Let me explain...”

Hearing Logan say that Daisy needed a kidney transplant because of her, Lily shook her head frantically, looking at him pitifully, trying to explain but was slapped across the face.

“Shut up, I dont want to hear anyone speak ill of Daisy.”

“Logan, you... hit me? How could you treat me like this?”

Lily never dreamed that Logan would hit her, and for Daisy no less.

This slap finally woke Lily up. It was only now that she saw Logan for who he truly was. She finally released his pant leg, stopped pleading, and revealed a look of realization and resentment.

So, the love of the past three years was never in her favor.

When she spoke again, Lilys expression was twisted, and her voice was filled with venom. Her tone was sharper and more shrill than ever.

“You dont want to hear about Daisys wrongdoings, so Ill say it. Logan, I curse Daisy, and I curse you too. You despicable couple will not die a good death. You deceived me for three years just to get my kidney for Daisy, and now you force me to sacrifice my child to save her. I wont let you have your way.”

“Havent learned your lesson?” Seeing Lily still daring to curse Daisy, Logan frowned, raised his hand, and slapped her again, knocking her to the ground once more.
