Atticus stormed into the hospital room and slapped Scout across the face.
"Scout Finch, Myrtle Wilson is barely awake, how could you be so cruel?"
"Im cruel? Isnt she the cruel one for harming my child?"
Seeing Atticuss murderous gaze, Scout backed away, protecting her belly.
Atticus knew Scouts thoughts; he stepped forward, gripping her wrist, and coldly said, "We were supposed to divorce anyway. This child would be a misfortune if it stayed. What, do you plan to use this child to threaten me later?"
"Threaten?" Scouts eyes widened, and a bitter smile crossed her lips. "What do I have to threaten you with? This child hasnt even been born, and his own father cant wait to kill it. If hes lucky enough to be born into this world, how could I use him to threaten you? Atticus Finch, do you think everyone is as ruthless as you are?"
Seeing Scouts hollow gaze, Atticuss expression softened slightly. "You know I never liked being forced. I also dont like to force others! I know your Finch family is poor, tell me! How much property do you want to willingly abort this child and divorce me?"
"Ha, so I can still get some property?" This was the man she had loved for five years, and five years of giving was all for such a result.
Scout laughed loudly. "Then can I have your Atticus Finch for the rest of your life?"
"Scout Finch, my patience has its limits. Dont push me too far!" Atticus grabbed Scouts hand and increased the pressure.
"Alright, Ill tell you the truth." Scout broke free from Atticuss grip with all her strength, looked up, and said, "Actually, this child is not yours. Do you really think your hit rate is one hundred percent?"
Atticuss eyebrows furrowed for a moment, then he sneered. "Do I care about these things? If the child is mine, he should die; if hes not mine, he should die even more."
"Atticus Finch, youre insane!" Scout had never seen him like this before. She ran out of the ward, but after a few steps, Atticus picked her up from behind.
"No matter what, I, Atticus Finch, will not let this child stay and ruin my relationship with Myrtle Wilson," Scout punched Atticuss chest over and over, but his steady pace was unaffected.
On the cold operating table, no matter how Scout punched and kicked, she was still tightly restrained by Atticus.
"Atticus Finch, youll get whats coming to you!" Scout glared at him maliciously.
Atticus chuckled lightly, "Whats coming to me! If there really is whats coming to me, the one who should be worried the most is you, Scout Finch."
"You!" Scout bit her lower lip and shouted loudly, "Atticus Finch, I didnt push her back then. If anything happens to my child, I will never let you go."
"What else do you have to resist?" Atticus bent over and whispered in Scouts ear, "If the child is mine, he should die; if hes not mine, he should die even more."
Upon hearing this, Scout suddenly went mad, grabbed Atticuss clothes, and shouted, "Atticus Finch, youre not human, youre a devil!"
"I became a devil because of you!" Atticus abruptly let go of Scouts hand.
Scout understood that this man would not change his mind because of her threats, so she began to plead, "Im sorry! Im sorry!"
Scout kept pleading, "Atticus, can you let me have the baby? I promise, I promise I wont appear in front of you and Myrtle Wilson in the future, I swear!"
"Its useless no matter what you say," Atticus curved the corners of his mouth and laughed coldly, "Who let this child not come at all."
Scout shook her head with tears like a spring, begging for a response: "Please... I beg you, okay! I will persuade Grandpa to let us divorce, will you let my child go?!"
However, no matter how Scout cried and pleaded, Atticus still made her take the abortion medicine and then resolutely left the operating room, his blurred figure gradually fading away.
"Atticus Finch, you will regret it!" Scout, lying on the operating table, looked at the door and said, her voice getting smaller and smaller.
