Love That Never Possessed the Past

"Villains, you are all villains!" Catherine Capulet held a sharp fruit knife, her face streaked with tears, looking unbearably pitiful.

Atticus Finch approached cautiously, trying to persuade her, "Alright, alright, sweetheart, will you put the knife down first?"

Catherines frightened eyes swept over the crowd, finally resting on the woman standing next to Atticus Finch. Her voice rose shrilly, "Jane Eyre, come here!"

Jane Eyre, who was called, took a slight step back, her hands involuntarily placed on her abdomen, for she saw a fleeting trace of malice in Catherines eyes.

"Young master, you cant let your wife go there, Miss Capulet has a knife, she will hurt your wife!" Calpurnia said anxiously. She was Atticus Finchs nanny, having seen him grow up from a young age.

"No way! I want her!" Catherine suddenly raised her voice, placing the sharp knife on her wrist; a single slash would cause blood to flow incessantly.

"Calpurnia, be quiet! Jane Eyre, get over here!" Atticus Finch roared furiously, his gaze on Jane Eyre wishing her dead.

Jane Eyre looked straight at the indifferent man in front of her, also her husband, Atticus Finch, bitterness on her lips: "Youre afraid she might hurt herself, arent you afraid she might hurt me? Atticus Finch, Im pregnant."

Atticus was stunned for a second, then immediately returned to his indifferent demeanor, coldly saying, "If you dont go over, Catherine will commit suicide. Listen clearly, you have no right to bear my child! Besides, you should be very clear about who caused her mental breakdown."

With that, he pushed Jane Eyre in front of Catherine Capulet.

A familiar dull pain came from her heart, and her face instantly lost all its color. She knew he didnt love her, but she didnt expect him to be so ruthless, not even wanting his own flesh and blood. His heartless words were like a sharp sword, fiercely piercing Jane Eyres heart!

Moreover, she didnt believe her brother would assault Catherine Capulet. After all, Atticus Finch had already ruined the Eyres, and her brother had been castrated by Atticus Finchs men and was now sitting in jail.

"Im here, can you put the knife down now?" Jane Eyre spoke indifferently but dared not get too close to Catherine.

Suddenly, Catherine stood up, placed the knife against Jane Eyres neck, and with a forceful movement, blood flowed down Janes neck.

Jane was trembling with fear, biting her lips tightly to keep from crying out, her palms sweating profusely.

"Dont come any closer! You villains, you killed my baby!" Catherine held Jane Eyre as she slowly moved to the stairway.

Atticus Finch dared not move, his hands clenched tightly, his unfathomable eyes fixed on the two women, the red on Jane Eyres neck stinging his eyes.

The housekeepers were so scared that they all hurriedly left.

"Catherine Capulet, let me go..." Janes voice trembled slightly.

"Jane Eyre, now that Ive finally tricked you here, how could I possibly let you go? I staged this play just to make sure you and your unborn child die together. I know youre pregnant." Catherine whispered into Jane Eyres ear, in a voice only audible to the two of them.

"You... are really pretending to be crazy!" Janes eyes were filled with fear. She looked to Atticus Finch for help; she had always suspected Catherine was pretending, but when Atticus threw the psychiatric diagnosis in her face, she dismissed her doubts.

"Yes! I am pretending to be crazy. You can go tell Finch, but see if he believes you. However, you wont live to tell him!" Catherine gave a sinister smile in Jane Eyres ear, then with tear-filled eyes, she looked at Atticus Finch.

"... Finch, Ive been defiled, and I have no face to see you. Lets be husband and wife in the next life..." After speaking, Catherine rolled down the stairs with Jane Eyre, the knife in her hand viciously stabbing Janes belly.

"Ah..." The shrill scream echoed throughout the entire mansion.
