An unprecedented fear swept over Daisy Buchanan, and she struggled desperately, shouting to see Jay Gatsby.
"Jay is someone you can see just by wanting to? However, considering we are sisters, I can let you hear his voice," Rebecca Wilson said, then had the servants gag Daisy with a cloth and put the phone on speaker, dialing Jay Gatsby.
"Rebecca? Why, after just a moment apart, do you start to miss me?"
The deep and magnetically pleasing male voice echoed from Rebeccas phone. It was Jay Gatsby. Daisy ceased her struggle, gazing intently at the phone.
Once, he had used that enchanting voice to call her, to say "Daisy."
But when he forced her to divorce to give Rebeccas child a legitimate heir, all memories had died the day before.
Daisy closed her eyes, trying to suppress the pain in her heart.
However, what Rebecca said next filled her with despair.
"Jay, the doctor said today that the fetus in Daisys womb is mature and can be naturally delivered in a month, but our childs illness..." Rebecca choked up, beginning to sob gently.
If Daisy wasnt watching, she would find it hard to believe that Rebeccas acting was so superb.
Not a tear fell, yet her voice sounded as if she was overwhelmed with grief, even infecting those who heard her with her sorrow.
"Dont worry, Ill call the private doctor to take the child out directly for experimental treatment to save our child."
Hearing Jays words, Daisys eyes widened, and she began to struggle again, making muffled sounds from behind the gag.
"Whats that noise there? Its so noisy."
Asked by Jay, Rebecca quickly turned off the speakerphone and laughed, saying, "A stray dog has wandered into our yard, and the servants are..." She glanced at Daisy, who had been restrained, and continued, "The servants are dealing with it."
Daisy couldnt understand why the man could be so ruthless. Were all the past tenderness and sweetness fake? Why, after just one night, did the man want to push her into hell?
Saying that he had seen her true malicious face, framing her own sister, and that she was shameless...
Clearly, it was Daisy who saved him the night he was drugged.
But why, after he woke up, would he only believe the surveillance footage?
Through the surveillance, everyone saw Rebecca, who had come to deliver her dowry, leave the villa in a daze.
She and Rebecca are twins, and if they switched clothes and stood in front of him, he might not be able to recognize them immediately, let alone a blurry surveillance video.
But Jay told her that Rebecca was pregnant, and the date just happened to be that day.
Most importantly, the paternity test showed that Rebeccas child was his.
He not only divorced her for this but also married her sister.
How could she accept such a soap opera-like event!
An hour later, there was a noise outside the door.
"Madam, shall we perform the surgery on her here?" The private doctor sent by Jay Gatsby.
This made Daisy struggle again. She couldnt let anything happen to her child, she absolutely couldnt!
She watched the private doctor warily, making muffled noises with her mouth, as if refusing and pleading.
Seeing Daisys panicked expression, Rebecca smiled, like a blooming mandala, both enchanting and poisonous.
Walking next to her and bending over to speak softly, "My dear sister, didnt you hear what Jay said on the phone?"
She naturally heard it, but she didnt expect Jay to actually call the private doctor over. How could he be so ruthless? After all, whats in her belly is his own flesh and blood!
"Proceed."
Upon Rebeccas command, the private doctor drew anesthetic into the syringe, preparing to inject it into Daisy.
"Wait a minute."
