My heart pounded in my chest as I rushed to the window and looked down. Sure enough, Jamie Fraser was leading Edward Cullen straight towards my apartment. I cursed under my breath; he was the most troublesome friend one could have.
For the sake of my own life, I not only locked the door but added several locks for good measure. I used every piece of furniture I could find—sofas, washing machines, refrigerators, tables—to barricade the door. I left a stool behind for my escape through the window.
Never in my sports-challenged life had I managed such a feat, but desperation brought out the best in me. I climbed down from the sixth floor as if I were a cat, landing safely on the ground.
Just as I was about to pat myself on the back and walk away, something hard pressed against my head, and a deep voice spoke from behind: "Impressive agility."
My heart sank. I dared not move. Although I didnt turn around, I could feel Edward Cullens powerful aura and the cold pressure that emanated from him, causing me to tremble uncontrollably.
He approached, standing just a meter away from me, and looked at me intently for a few seconds before looking away. The brief moment was enough for me to catch the disgust in his eyes, as if he couldnt bear the reality of what had happened between us.
Feeling both angry and secretly pleased, I decided to play innocent: "Sir, I think there might be some misunderstanding or youve mistaken me for someone else. I dont know you..."
"Take her away!" he interrupted, not giving me a chance to finish, and turned to leave without looking back.
I was escorted by two burly men with guns, and there was Jamie Fraser, hiding behind a pillar with his jaw almost on the floor, watching me with tearful eyes as if I were a dead woman walking.
I must have offended his ancestors in a past life to deserve such a fate at his hands.
Filled with grievances, I was pushed into a stretch limousine. The guns were removed from my head, but my presence made the space feel cramped. The bodyguards stared at me coldly, and I tried to retreat, but my size didnt allow it. I ended up occupying a seat that could have fit three people.
Finally, the bodyguards pulled out small stools and sat immovable in the remaining space. Edward Cullen glanced at my size, skipped over my face, and sat on the other side in his专属 seat, propping his chin with one hand, silent and exuding gloom.
I sat still, trembling uncontrollably. Due to my size, my trembling caused the chair, and consequently the entire car, to shake.
The atmosphere became extremely awkward, and the bodyguards looks towards me carried a certain discrimination.
Then, I heard someones words squeezed out from his teeth: "Stop shaking!!"
"I... I cant help it!" I dared not raise my head, fearing that if he saw my face, he would not be able to resist killing me in advance. I hadnt achieved my weight loss goal yet and did not want to die.
After all, the person in front of me was a big shot in New York City, a tycoon whose every step could plunge the country into an economic crisis, and a boss who could take my life with just a nod!
The driver asked, "Mr. Cullen, where to now?"
I couldnt help but glance at him, seeing the veins on his forehead pulsating as he gritted his teeth and said, "To the yacht, to be sunk!"
The moment he said this, I fell off the seat in fright. My face just so happened to land in Edward Cullens lowered line of sight.
This time, his gaze had escalated from disgust to intense murderous intent.
I was scared and anxious, but my size always seemed to work against me. The more anxious I got, the more I struggled to get up.
I kept trying to rise from his feet, and the car shook rhythmically with my flailing, causing me to break into a cold sweat.
The boss finally couldnt stand my presence and said, "How do you want to die?"
"I... I dont want to die!" I trembled as I spoke. The two bodyguards tried to pull me up, but to no avail, as I was stuck, my face still staring at him.
The boss closed his eyes in despair, his fists clenched, and said, "Drive faster!"
The driver stepped on the gas, and my face slammed into the bosss foot.
I heard the bodyguards gasp in awe. I closed my eyes in despair, and then the man kicked my face hard, causing me immense pain.
Before I could recover from the pain, a warm garment was thrown over my head. It was evident how much Edward Cullen hated my face, probably because it pained his eyes so much.
I arrived at the destination smelling the fragrance of the victims clothes. Before I could even enjoy the sunlight, I was dragged onto the yacht and pushed into a dark, cold, and terrifying cabin.
The sound of the iron door closing made me turn around sharply. A spotlight shone on Edward Cullen, illuminating him while the surroundings remained dark, likely because he still didnt want to see my face.
He sat on a chair, legs crossed, lit a cigarette, and looked melancholic: "My life doesnt allow for such a big stain. What do you suggest we do?"
I immediately knelt on the ground and said honestly, "Ill do anything except die!"
"But all I want is for you to die," he slightly raised his lips, exhaling a cloud of smoke. If it werent for the fact that I was facing a life-or-death situation, I would have been mesmerized by his handsome looks.
"Mr. Cullen, please spare me! Maybe its all a misunderstanding. Nothing might have happened between us. I was completely drunk and couldnt have done anything. Maybe it was you who took the initiative..."
"You mean I was so desperate that I took you?" he interrupted my words, his light sentence seemingly carrying icy blades that pierced through me.
With a strong desire to live, I quickly changed my words: "No, no, I mean we might really not have done anything. Why dont you hold a press conference, Mr. Cullen, and lets clarify things together?"
"You want a press conference?" he again squeezed the words from his teeth, really killing me. It seemed that no matter what I said, it was wrong.
"Mr. Cullen, please calm down. There must be a misunderstanding! Even if you believe in your charm, I dont believe in my strength to take you down and your two bodyguards!"
