Love Beyond the Horizon

"Are you tired today? Wash up, dinners ready," Daisy Buchanan greeted with a smile as she rushed to the door to take Atticus Finchs briefcase. But Atticus dodged, keeping the bag behind him, a clear sign of his aversion to her touch.

Daisy, undisturbed and unfazed, continued, "Alright, put it away yourself and come to dinner."

She had been busy in the kitchen since two in the afternoon, and thankfully, she managed to have the meal on the table just before Atticus returned from work.

Atticus was perfect, and Daisy didnt want to be the imperfection in his life.

He walked into his study, took off his coat, placed the briefcase on the desk, and then sat down at the dining table, picking up his chopsticks under Daisys hopeful gaze and beginning to eat mechanically.

Daisy asked, "How is it? Is it to your liking?"

Atticus kept his eyes down, noncommittal.

Daisy pointed at the Spicy Diced Chicken on the table, "This should suit your taste; I found the recipe online especially for you. Would you like to try it?"

Atticus moved his chopsticks, turning to another dish, completely ignoring the tempting chicken.

Daisy fell silent, picked up her bowl, and began to eat, stealing glances at Atticuss expression, trying to gauge his satisfaction from the few changes in his facial muscles.

After dinner, Atticus stood up and went straight to his study.

Their new home, a gift from Daisys father, was meticulously designed with a bedroom, living room, gym, and located in the bustling city center, a valuable asset.

The houses worth was negligible to the Buchanan family, and equally insignificant to Atticus, who had no interest in enjoying it.

After all, it was a marriage born of necessity, not love.

No matter how gentle and virtuous Daisy was, she could not erase Atticuss disgust for her calculated advances.

Could it be love? Whose love is so ruthless?

Its just the possessiveness of a wealthy woman.

"Atticus, this is milk air-freighted from New Zealand. Youre usually tired; drinking a cup every night will help you sleep, okay?" Daisy placed the cup by his hand, her voice gentle and lingering.

Atticus slammed the file in his hand and sneered, "How dare I not comply with Miss Buchanans command? But may I ask, have you added anything sinister to it this time?"

Daisy and Atticus met at a friends party. She was unaware that her drink had been drugged by someone with ill intentions. After drinking it, she realized the problem.

But the object of her affection was Atticus, and Daisy was more than willing; after all, its rare to fall in love at first sight, and even rarer for fate to give her a chance. With a little pushing and pulling, Daisy and Atticus spent a spring night together.

As the only daughter of the richest man of Los Angeles, Daisy of course knew how to turn a small cost into a great profit.

So the incident that day was twisted and turned and eventually reached the ears of Atticuss parents. The elderly couple, being traditional, had no second thoughts, only one path - marriage.

Daisy got what she wanted, not caring that Atticus hated her so much that he gnashed his teeth, just wanting to see if love would grow over time.

Hearing Atticuss question, Daisy still smiled, "Of course not, now that I know how to please you, why would I do such a thing?"

Atticus snorted coldly, disdaining her shamelessness.

The most frequent thoughts in Daisys mind revolved around Atticus, lowering her status just for him.

Daisy never imagined that although Atticus was cold, he was also upright and unyielding, and he could actually have an affair.
