Love Beyond Betrayal

"Villains, youre all villains!" Daisy Buchanan, armed with a sharp kitchen knife, stood before the crowd, her face streaked with tears, looking as pitiful as could be.

Tom Joad approached cautiously, trying to persuade, "Alright, alright, sweetheart, will you please put the knife down?"

Daisys fearful eyes swept over the crowd, finally resting on the woman standing next to Tom Joad. Her voice rose to a shrill cry, "Scarlett OHara, come here!"

Scarlett, the one called, took a slight step back, her hands instinctively moving to her abdomen, for she saw a fleeting trace of malice in Daisys eyes.

"Master, you cant let Mrs. OHara go over there, Miss Buchanan has a knife, it will hurt Mrs. OHara!" Calpurnia said anxiously. She was the Joad familys housekeeper, having watched Tom Joad grow up from a young age.

"No way! I want her!" Daisy suddenly raised her voice, placing the sharp knife against her wrist, ready to draw it across and cause blood to flow incessantly.

"Scarlett OHara, you must come over," Tom Joad bellowed furiously, his gaze on Scarlett filled with such animosity that he wished her dead on the spot.

Scarlett looked straight at the cold man before her, her husband, Tom Joad, and bitterness touched her lips. "Are you afraid for her to hurt herself but not afraid for her to hurt me? Tom Joad, Im pregnant."

Tom Joad paused for a moment, just a second, then resumed his cold demeanor, stating coldly, "If you dont go over, Daisy will commit suicide. Listen carefully, you have no right to bear my child! Besides, you should be clear about who caused Daisys mental breakdown."

With that, he pushed Scarlett OHara right in front of Daisy Buchanan.

A familiar dull pain shot through her heart, and the blood drained from her face instantly. She knew he didnt love her, but she didnt expect him to be so ruthless that he didnt even want his own flesh and blood. His heartless words were like a sharp sword, brutally piercing Scarlett OHaras heart!

Moreover, she didnt believe her brother would have assaulted Daisy Buchanan. After all, Tom Joad had already ruined the OHara family, and her brother was now languishing in San Quentin State Prison, his life destroyed by Tom Joads hired thugs.

"Im here now, can you put the knife down?" Scarlett said indifferently, but she didnt dare to get too close to Daisy.

Suddenly, Daisy stood up, pressed the knife against Scarletts neck, and with a forceful motion, blood began to flow down Scarletts neck.

Scarlett trembled with fear, biting her lips tightly to keep from crying out, her hands sweaty at her sides.

"Dont come any closer! You villains, you killed my baby!" Daisy shouted, moving towards the staircase while holding Scarlett OHara, the knife in her hand viciously stabbing into Scarletts abdomen.

"Ah..." A heart-wrenching scream echoed throughout Gatsbys Mansion.
