"Jane, I heard were getting a new student in our class," her roommate whispered excitedly.
Jane sat in the classroom, her head buried in her phone, scanning the latest Valoran League updates. "Its the second semester of our freshman year, impressive that someone can transfer in at this time," she muttered absentmindedly.
"Dont look now, but the new student is here," her roommate nudged her.
"League of Valor, want me to teach you? Im a legit Platinum..." Jane looked up, ready to convince her roommate to join the gaming world, but the next moment, she saw the figure by the podium.
His hair was still the same as in high school, slightly long and wavy.
Girls shouldnt play these violent games, a voice from the past echoed in her mind.
"Im Edward Cullen, transferring to Journalism Class II today. Besides gaming, I dont have any other hobbies," his voice was somewhat clean.
"Wow, hes kind of handsome," it wasnt just her roommate who was smitten.
Hmph, Jane scoffed inwardly, what are you all drooling over? Dont you know about the passionate relationship he had with his girlfriend back in high school?
As Jane squinted at her daydreaming roommate, she suddenly felt a chill down her spine. She turned to meet the eyes on the podium.
Was he looking at her? No way... She was sitting in the last few rows; he couldnt see her clearly, could he?
"Hes coming this way!" her roommate suppressed an excited shriek.
Edward walked down from the podium, straight towards Jane – getting closer and closer...
Janes heart was in her throat as he walked right in front of her, next to her, a soft breeze and a fresh scent brushed past Janes right ear.
Edward sat right behind Jane.
The class monitor spoke at length on the podium, finally concluding, "Alright, thats it for the class meeting this semester. Everyone head back to the dorms now."
The students in the classroom dispersed in a rush.
Jane felt a sense of relief and quickly dragged her roommate back to the dorm.
Gossips always have countless channels to gather news. At eleven in the evening, her roommate Claire burst out from her bed, "Jane!"
Janes hand holding the mouse trembled, "Oh my god, you almost made me get a solo kill!"
Claire: "You and Edward are from the same high school?"
"Umm, yeah," Jane started to dodge the question, she always felt like she was being interrogated.
Claire: "Do you know him?"
"Hohoho, how could I know such a handsome guy like Edward?" Jane laughed coquettishly.
Claire: "But didnt you just say you dont know him?"
Jane: "..."
In the class group, the class monitor pinged everyone: "I heard quite a few of us in our class play Valoran League, how about we meet at the Cyber Café this weekend for a battle?"
A guy replied, "Can we even gather ten people?"
The class monitor: "I heard Edward is a master in Region One, the area with the most skilled players. Lets take this chance to add friends and get some help."
Obviously, as soon as Edward was brought up, the plan was set.
Before it got dark on Friday, the Cyber Café near the school gate was half-filled with students from Journalism Class II.
"Edward is on the opposite side, were done for. Were setting up a custom game for our class, and were still going to get crushed," a classmate wailed in the Cyber Café, "We have three girls on our side, the skill gap is too big. Can someone go over and ask Edward to switch sides and help us out?"
Janes phone vibrated, Temporary conversation from Journalism Class II Edward: "Come over."
Hes calling her? Her hand trembled...
