Emily Thompsons fierce words did not deter Ethan Parker. Watching her two young daughters and her few bags of luggage being brought to the ward by Ethans orders, Emilys tears burst forth again.
"Ethan Parker! I hate you!"
She cried out silently in her heart, but she could not let her children see this hatred. She did not know how to tell the two children the truth.
Lily was 5, and Daisy was 2.
They were the continuation of her life and the only support for her to live on...
"Mom, mom..."
Daisy saw her long-missed mother and shouted as she pounced into her mothers arms, her small face full of joy, her twinkling eyes still bright.
Lily approached the hospital bed slowly, seeing Emily with an IV in her hand, she asked softly, "Dad said you killed our brother?"
Emily was taken aback, shocked and unable to respond. That damn man actually said that to the child!
"Lily... do you believe what dad said?"
Lilys head shook like a rattle: "Dad sleeps with Aunt Sophia every day, he doesnt sleep with me and my sister, I hate dad, I dont believe him..."
Dr. William Scott entered to check on Emilys wound recovery and was taken aback by the situation in the ward.
"Whats going on here?"
"Dr. Scott, these two children have been with me during my hospital stay..." Emilys nose turned sour, and she couldnt articulate the rest of her sentence, tears streaming down her face.
"Dont cry, mom... Daisy loves you..." Daisy raised her chubby little hand to wipe away Emilys tears, but even after her hand was wet, Emilys tears continued to fall, and she started crying loudly.
Lily didnt go over to hug Emily; she clutched her stuffed toy, lowered her head, and secretly wiped away her tears.
Dad doesnt want mom anymore, nor do they want her and her sister...
Dr. Scott saw the three of them crying and thought he shouldnt have come in, but the situation required arrangements. Could he really let these two children stay in this small hospital room with Emily?
"Dont cry... Uncle has candy..."
Dr. Scott didnt know how to comfort them. Thinking he had a few pieces of chocolate in his pocket, he hurriedly took them out and shook them in front of Lily and Daisy.
Daisys eyes lit up at the sight of food, and she quickly climbed down from the bed, grabbed the chocolate from Dr. Scotts hand, and stuffed it into her mouth.
"Daisy, dont eat things from strangers!" Lily snatched the chocolate from Daisys mouth and threw it on the ground, glaring at Dr. Scott indignantly.
"Daisy is hungry, Daisy wants to eat... boo-hoo..." Daisy started crying again, wriggling free from her sisters hand, and directly pounced on the ground to pick up the chocolate.
Dr. Scotts heart trembled, and he quickly hugged Daisy and took Lilys hand, speaking softly, "Uncle is not a stranger, Uncle is a friend of your mom, dont believe you ask mom..."
Then he took out the rest of the chocolate from his pocket and put it all into Lilys hand.
Lily looked at Dr. Scott seriously, then turned to look at Emily, and seeing her mother nod slightly, she opened the packaging and gobbled up the chocolate with Daisy.
Emily cried so hard that she was out of breath, biting her lower lip to stop her tears, and choked, "Havent you eaten anything?"
Lily whispered, "That woman didnt give us food, only water..."
