After being administered a sedative, Emily Thompson fell into a deep sleep. The nurse tended to the wound on Dr. William Scotts neck, grumbling about Emilys ingratitude.
"Dr. Scott, youve been paying her medical bills out of your own pocket, and she treats you like this. Luckily, the needle missed your trachea or artery. She deserves to be unloved by her husband!"
Dr. Scott shook his head, signaling the nurse not to speak ill of the patient behind her back: "Her hatred for me is understandable. No woman would take it lightly to lose her uterus at such a young age..."
"But Dr. Scott, it was an emergency. If we hadnt removed the uterus, she wouldnt have survived..." the nurse defended, feeling it was unjust.
Dr. Scott sighed, not understanding why he was so concerned about this womans condition. Was it because she had grabbed his hand in the operating room, pleading for her life, that had drawn his attention to her?
In the hospital room.
Emily felt like a rag doll, punctured with countless holes, the stuffing that symbolized her life continuously falling out of those holes.
She watched as her once plump body withered away until the last bit of stuffing fell out of the hole, and she finally knew that she could never go back to the past...
Ethan Parker appeared at the hospital a week after Sophia Green left, learning about Emilys condition. He still took out the signed divorce agreement, demanding she sign it.
"Ethan Parker, youve tormented me for six years, and now Sophia has taken away even my basic right to be a woman... Is there nothing you want to say to me?" The man in front of her was so heartless that it sent a chill down her spine. Once they were husband and wife, even if there was no marital bond between them, they had raised two children together. How could he condone Sophias actions so heartlessly?
"Emily Thompson, Ive been more than kind to you. Stop provoking me, and dont you dare to frame鐧惧悎 again!" Ethan Parker seemed to feel that being cold to Emily at this moment was somewhat unkind, so he softened his tone and continued, "Ive arranged with the hospital to put all your medical expenses on my companys account. You can rest assured, you wont die..."
Emily gazed weakly at Ethan, and despite the pain in her heart, she had no intention of arguing anymore.
She signed the agreement without hesitation, looking at the crooked "Emily Thompson" and swallowing the sourness in her mouth, forcing a smile at Ethan: "Ethan Parker, I set you free."
Ethan awkwardly turned his head. This moment, which he had been looking forward to for six years, did not bring the relief and happiness he had anticipated.
Was it guilt? Ethan denied it.
This woman had callously pushed his mother down the stairs, and he was merciful to pay for her medical expenses!
"After youre discharged, come back to move your things. These days,Sophia and I will take care of the children for you, so you can rest easy."
The originally calm Emily was startled by Ethans last words and sat up from the bed: "Please... dont let that woman touch my children... Ethan... you cant..."
Emilys panicked look annoyed Ethan, and every time Sophia was mentioned, she reacted so intensely!
"The children like her, so stop making a fuss!" Ethan said irritably.
Emily stopped Ethan as he was about to leave, her pale face showing an unwavering determination. She looked at the man in front of her, enunciating each word clearly: "If you dare let her touch my children, I will curse you to never father a son in this life!"
