If This Isn't Love

"Hey, Daniel, why didnt you open the gift I gave you?" Emily Johnson pulled Daniel Ray forcefully into the stairwell, her voice demanding an answer.

Daniel looked down at her, a touch of helplessness in his voice, "So, where is this gift youre talking about?"

"Right in front of you, cant you see it?" Emily gazed at him with her big, dark eyes, her radiant face showing a confident and unrestrained smile.

"Huh?" Daniels mind was a bit foggy from the alcohol, and he shook his head in confusion.

Suddenly, Emily reached out and cupped his face, kissing him directly, "Fool, the gift Im giving you is... myself."

Her clear and enchanting voice carried a hint of seduction as her breath ambiguously caressed his slightly dry lips.

Daniel couldnt help but chase after it, capturing the lips that were so close.

"Mmm..." A sweet, sticky sound leaked from their connected lips, and Emilys face flushed from the kiss, her legs feeling weak as she clung tightly to his neck.

Daniel wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her even closer, his emotions starting to spiral out of control.

"What are you doing!" Lily Thompson exclaimed as she opened the security door, witnessing such a passionate scene.

Daniel was startled and pushed Emily away, turning to face Lily as he panted, a bit awkwardly asking, "What are you doing here?"

Emily, pushed away, leaned against the wall, her breath quick and heavy, her face showing undisguised disgust, complaining discontentedly, "What are you doing here, Lily? Havent you seen people in love before?"

Lily looked at Daniel, who was also breathing heavily and seemed very moved, and couldnt believe he was the same man who was usually restrained and polite to her. Behind her back, was he like this with her sister?

"I saw you two heading this way, and I just wanted to check... I didnt expect... you... how could you do this!" She said, her eyes constantly glancing at Daniel, showing a hint of grievance.

Because of her status as an illegitimate child, Daniel was the only one in the family who was kind to her. Emily was so domineering and overbearing, didnt he dislike her? How could... this be? Didnt he say he preferred the gentle and considerate her?

Emily said with a sour face, "Whats wrong with us?"

Amused by her "caught in bed" tone, Emily said, "Who in New York City doesnt know that Dad adopted Daniel and trained him to grow up and marry me to inherit Johnson Enterprises. Were a perfect match, whats strange about a kiss?"

"But..." Who doesnt know that Daniel hates you? Do you think its an honor for a man to be controlled for life and lose his freedom? Hes already tired of it!

Lily thought to herself, but she didnt dare to say it out loud, she could only bite her lip, looking pitiful.

Emily was proud and strong, doing everything with the air of a proper young lady, didnt she know that the more she acted like this, the more Daniel would hate her!
