When Olivia Shen arrived at the sound of the commotion, the guest room had already erupted into chaos. Her husband, Alex Lu, whom she had not seen in the three years since their marriage, stood protectively beside Skye, his gaze intense and possessive.
Beside them, a maid huddled on the floor, trembling with fear and crying in spasms. Olivia stood at the back of the crowd, her eyes fixed on the man whose presence dominated the room, her heart twinging with a bittersweet ache.
Even in anger, Alexs features were strikingly handsome, his beauty untarnished. Yet, the cold aura that emanated from him was enough to chill the bravest of souls.
Suddenly, his sharp, eagle-like gaze met hers, and Olivia felt a chill run through her, her hand clenching involuntarily.
"Did you do this?" Alexs tone was questioning, but his eyes already convicted her.
Olivias gaze swept over the shattered porcelain on the floor, her heart lurching with a surge of sour emotions, a sense of grievance swelling within her.
Gathering herself, Olivia raised her delicate face and smiled, "Im sorry, I dont understand what you mean."

He sneered, "If I hadnt arrived in time, Skyes voice could have been destroyed. The maid you sent to take care of Skye, what do you have to say for yourself?!"

Had he not been on his way to see Skye and intercepted the teapot for inspection, he would not have discovered that someone in his own home was attempting to harm her.

She bit her lip and whispered, "You havent been back for three years, and your wife has waited for you for so long. Theres no need to let these trivial matters ruin your mood."

Olivia saw this emotion clearly and felt a sense of helplessness. The girl had indeed created a significant problem for herself today.
Even though she knew Lindas background and understood her reasons for disliking Skye, she could not condone such venomous actions.
"Trivial? Skye is a singer; if her voice is damaged, what will she sing with?" Alexs voice rose with a chill, his tone laced with anger that instilled a hint of fear in those around him.
Linda was terrified of Alex, and hearing him speak in such a manner only increased her unease, her hands clenching the fabric of her dress.
"Olivia, in three years, youve become more malicious, blatantly poisoning Skye, havent you?"
Three years of hardening her heart, and yet it was so easily chipped away by this man, no matter how much she tried to suppress the sorrow welling up inside her.
He had always been so cold and heartless towards her.
Olivia gritted her teeth to maintain her composure, smiled slightly, and poured the remaining tea from the pot into a cup.
In a soft voice, she said, "Brother Alex, youre mistaken. This is just ordinary tea. I thought it was quite good, which is why I had a pot sent over."
With that, Olivia raised the cup, drank the tea that Alex claimed was poisoned, without a hint of fear or hesitation.
