In the dead of night, with lightning flashing and thunder roaring, the heavy rain lashed against the roof tiles, leaving a slippery trail in its wake.

Inside the house, Cynthia, the marquiss wife, was in labor, gasping for breath as she clutched the hand of her maid, Ruby, and whispered, "Has the marquis not returned yet? I cant hold on much longer..."

The room sprang into action, and no one noticed Cynthia, lying in bed, her face beaded with cold sweat, her eyes weakly glancing out the window, tears sliding down her cheeks.
