Emily woke up the next day.
The strong smell of disinfectant in the hospital stimulated Emilys senses as she stared blankly at the ceiling, her hand slowly moving to her abdomen, clearly understanding that she had lost the most important thing, her... child.
Two streams of tears slid down her cheeks, silently seeping into the pillow.
The physical wounds could heal, but what about the emotional ones?
Rolling down the stairs, Emilys abdomen had bled profusely, and she had pleaded with Daniel to save their child, but he had been heartless, not even pausing as he rushed the unconscious Chloe out of the mansion, completely ignoring his wife.
Her heart ached as if it had been stabbed countless times, making Emily feel as if breathing was difficult.
The door opened, and Emily closed her eyes.
"Daniel, did I really hurt Emily like this?" Chloes eyes blinked, and large tears flowed continuously, making her look extremely fragile.
Chloe, with Emily as a cushion, was not seriously injured.
"Its okay, dont be sad. You were having an episode," Daniel comforted Chloe, hugging her gently, his deep gaze looking at Emily on the hospital bed, her face pale as snow.
Seeing Emilys pale, almost transparent face, Daniel felt a pang in his heart.
"Once the act is over, please leave," Emilys voice was hoarse. She had planned to pretend to be asleep, but these two people were simply disgusting to her.
"Emily, I didnt mean to hurt you, please forgive me, okay? I didnt know I had an episode. I know what your brother did to me has nothing to do with you..."
"Dont touch me!" Emily tried to pull away from Chloes hand, which was stopped by her sharp command.
"Emily Thompson, dont be ungrateful! Chloe has come to see you specially. After what Ethan did to Chloe, she still considers you a friend," Daniel said coldly, the strange emotion that had just sprouted instantly replaced by indifference.
"Daniel, dont be angry. Emily hates me, and she should. After all, its because of me that you lost your child."
Chloe bit her lower lip, her face tear-stained, looking extremely pitiful, but from an angle Daniel couldnt see, she gave Emily a triumphant smile.
"Then pay with your life!" Mentioning the lost child, Emily became like a wild beast losing her sanity, jumping off the bed and fiercely grabbing Chloes neck.
"Emily Thompson, youre crazy!" Daniel stepped forward and pushed her to the ground, then carefully protected Chloe in his arms.
"Ha... Im crazy? Even if I am, its because of you two, Daniel Grant, youre not even human. The child is dead, and youre not sad at all, but you treat the murderer like a treasure in your hands. What kind of person are you?!" Emilys eyes filled with hatred looked at Daniel and the woman in his arms, who gave her a victorious smile in return.
"I said, youre not qualified to have my child. As for the child being lost, it suits me just fine. Consider it as paying off Ethans debt, because of your brother, Chloe lost the right to be a mother," Daniels voice was a few degrees colder.
In his memory, Emily was always proper and always smiling. When did she become like a resentful woman in the deep palace, so vicious?
"My brother is innocent, its Chloe..."
"Ethan Thompson, dont come over! Stay away from me!" Emilys words were cut off as Chloe suddenly screamed, breaking free from Daniels embrace, covering her ears and squatting in the corner, muttering to herself.
"Ethan Thompson, dont come over, I beg you!"
"Chloe, dont pretend anymore. Youre not crazy at all!" Ignoring the pain in her stomach, Emily stood up, shaking with anger.
"Slap!"
"Emily Thompson, shut up! Youre getting more and more vicious!" Daniel slapped Emily hard across the face, almost gnashing his teeth as he spoke.
