Even in Joy, Memories Linger

"Everyone here is evil!" Chloe Parker held a sharp fruit knife, her face tear-stained and pitiful.

Daniel cautiously approached, trying to persuade her, "Alright, alright, sweetheart, can you please put the knife down?"

Chloes frightened eyes scanned the crowd, finally resting on the woman standing next to Daniel. She screamed shrilly, "Emily Thompson, come here!"

Called out, Emily hesitated, her hands instinctively placed on her abdomen, as she saw the fleeting malice in Chloes eyes.

"Sir, you cant let Mrs. Thompson go over there. Miss Parker has a knife; she could hurt Mrs. Thompson!" Mrs. Johnson, Daniels housekeeper who had seen him grow up, said anxiously.

"No! I want her!" Chloe suddenly raised her voice, placing the sharp knife against her wrist, ready to draw blood with a single slice.

"Mrs. Johnson, be quiet! Emily, go over there!" Daniel roared furiously, his gaze on Emily was as if he wished her dead.

Emily looked straight at the cold man, her husband Daniel, the bitterness of her smile evident: "Youre afraid shell hurt herself but not afraid shell hurt me? Daniel, Im pregnant."

Daniel paused for a second, then resumed his cold demeanor, coldly stating: "If you dont go over, Chloe will commit suicide. Listen carefully, you have no right to bear my child! Besides, who caused her mental breakdown should be clear in your mind."

He then pushed Emily in front of Chloe.

The familiar dull pain in her heart, the blood drained from her face instantly, she knew he didnt love her, but she didnt expect him to be so ruthless, not even caring about his own flesh and blood. His heartless words were like a sword, brutally stabbing Emilys heart!

Emily trembled in fear, biting her lips tightly to keep from crying out, her hands sweaty at her sides.

"Dont come any closer! You evil people, you killed my baby!" Chloe held Emily as she slowly moved to the staircase.

Daniel didnt dare to move, his hands clenched, his deep, unfathomable eyes fixed on the two women, the red on Emilys neck piercing his eyes.

The housekeepers were so scared that they all hurriedly left.

"Chloe, let me go..." Emilys voice trembled slightly.

"Emily Thompson, now that Ive lured you here, why would I let you go? I staged this whole act to make sure you and your unborn child die. I knew you were pregnant." Chloe whispered in Emilys ear, her voice audible only to the two of them.

"You... are really pretending to be crazy!" Emilys eyes filled with fear, her pleading gaze turned to Daniel, who had always suspected Chloe of feigning madness, but Daniel had dismissed her doubts with Chloes psychiatric records.

"Yes! I am pretending to be crazy. You can go tell Daniel, but do you think hell believe you? Besides, you wont live to tell him!" Chloe gave Emily a cold smile, then with tearful eyes, she looked at Daniel.

"... Daniel, Ive been defiled, I have no face to see you anymore, lets be husband and wife in the next life..." Chloe finished speaking and rolled down the stairs with Emily, the knife in her hand brutally stabbing Emilys stomach.

"Ah..." The shrill scream echoed throughout the mansion.
