Even After Death

In the dead of night, the room was shrouded in darkness.

Lincoln Gu, dressed in a sharp suit, swiftly undid his robe without any preamble.

“Let me go!” Eleanor Chen shouted as she always did, struggling against him.

But it was no match for his aggressive advances.

She slapped him, "Lincoln Gu, you beast."

“Beast? Weve been sleeping together for three years, and youre still acting so high-minded. Look at what you wear every day," he scoffed, picking up her clothes and waving them in front of her. "Nice choice, Eleanor. I like the pattern."

“Let go of me, you cripple!” She tried to push him away.

Lincoln, the eldest son of the Gu Corporation, had a good family background and appearance, but his left leg was slightly crippled. His girlfriend, Amy Zhou, was sent abroad due to her familys opposition, and Eleanor, her cousin, was married to him as "compensation."

On their wedding night, seeing that the person sent by the Chen family was not Amy, Lincoln felt his dignity violated and demanded vehemently, "Do you think Im crippled and cant satisfy a wife? Thats why you gave me such a loss-making deal?"

For three years, Lincoln always acted this way, coming home and demanding fervently, eager to prove his capabilities.

"I cant continue like this," Eleanor thought about what happened when she went back to her family today, clenching her fists, determined to end this mistake tonight.

Eleanor pushed him away, quickly wrapped herself in a robe, and sneered at him, "I dont want to be your bedmate anymore. Lets get a divorce."

"What did you say?" Lincoln was also awakened by her slap, his eyes wide with disbelief. They had been sleeping peacefully for three years, and she had never mentioned this before. What was going on today?

"Ive thought it over. I cant bear a man who treats me as another woman every time."

"Oh, interesting? I just imagine you as a woman. You, Eleanor, are so fickle and promiscuous, probably imagining different men each time," he yawned lazily, not taking her seriously.

"Lincoln Gu!" she was furious, "Lets not talk about anything else, divorce."

"But I just wont," he pulled her waist, "Come, lets sleep. Its not easy to find a bed partner these days."

Eleanor felt like there were a herd of llamas climbing on her head, and she wanted to sigh at how she had met such a beastly man!

"Lincoln Gu, I saw Amy today when I went home. Ive thought it over, if we divorce now and end this farce, you two might still have a chance."

Perhaps thinking of his white moonlight, Lincolns eyes rolled, and he was silent for a long time: "Alright, Ill go with you to get the divorce certificate tomorrow."

Then, he turned and left the room.

"Finally agreed, I wish you both a happy life together!"

Eleanor couldnt wait to close the door, locked it, and then lay on the bed, imagining her happy single life after getting the certificate. Ah, she finally had a good sleep.
