The room gradually darkened, and Sunny watched helplessly as the window changed from light to dark. For several hours, she sat motionless until she heard music coming from downstairs.
It was "The Wedding of Dreams," the tune she had once told Jay Gatsby that she must use this piece as the background music at her own wedding.
The music flowed, and Sunny seemed to be stimulated greatly. She rushed to the door, knocked on the door hard, and called out "Gatsby, Jay Gatsby, let me out..." But there was no one, upstairs and downstairs seemed like two completely isolated worlds.
Sunny ran to the window, and the courtyard was full of bright lights, with guests coming and going. She could imagine what a grand scene it was.
She saw a flower stage set up by the pool, which should be the place for the engagement ceremony.
Sure enough, a moment later, the spotlight came over, and Linnea stood in the sea of roses on the flower stage, smiling happily.
Sunny saw Jay Gatsby coming over, holding a jade box in his hand.
"No! Jay Gatsby, thats mine!" Sunny struggled to open the window. That was the jade ring left to her by her father, how could it be given to Linnea?
Her cries dissipated into the night, drowned in the music.
Sunny completely lost her mind. She just wanted to keep her ring, which was left to her by her father.
She saw Jay Gatsby open the jade box, she saw Linnea reach out her hand, no!
She jumped from the window, and there was a scream by the pool.
"Someone jumped off a building!" "Who is that!" "Go and have a look quickly!"
The crowd was in chaos, and Jay Gatsby was the first to run over, picked up the unconscious Sunny, and the next moment, the car carrying Sunny roared away.
Linnea watched Jay Gatsby pick up Sunny, and her expression was a bit distorted by her uncontrollable resentment.
At the hospital.
Jay Gatsby looked at Sunny with some confusion. Sunnys actions just now had shocked him, and what shocked him even more was his reaction when he saw Sunny unconscious, which was an irresistible pain.
Fortunately, the window under Sunnys second floor was just an iris, and the lawn and iris flowers were more than an inch thick. The doctor said that apart from a slight concussion, there were only a few minor external injuries. She could be discharged in a few days.
When Sunny woke up, she saw Jay Gatsby standing in front of the window, his figure somewhat lonely.
"Jay Gatsby, that ring is mine, its the one Dad left me."
Jay Gatsby suddenly turned his head, looking at Sunny with a bit of disgust and ridicule in his eyes.
"Sunny OConnell, this ring belongs to the Gatsby family, its left for the daughter-in-law of the Gatsby family. Do I need to remind you that its my father, although you have called him Dad for twenty years, but thats my father. Moreover," Jay Gatsby paused, and a sharp look flashed in his eyes: "I dont want any interference between me and Linnea. You can stay here, I wont go against my fathers will, but please remember, dont try to destroy us, you cant do it."
Sunny was stunned. She was trying to destroy them, okay, it was really funny. She had become the one trying to destroy them?
The door opened, and Linnea came in. She walked to Sunnys bedside and said sadly, "Miss OConnell, I love Gatsby, I have been looking forward to this day for a long time, I just didnt expect that you would obstruct us in this way?" After that, tears rolled down in large drops.
Sunnys brain was short-circuited, and the pain that tore her body apart made her only weakly spit out a "you" word, and she couldnt say anything more.
Jay Gatsby hugged Linnea, and his thumb gently wiped away her tears. That careful tenderness instantly stung Sunnys eyes, but she didnt shed a tear, staring blankly at everything in front of her.
