A beam of sunlight shone through the window, and Sunny reluctantly opened her eyes.
The unfamiliar room was not the room of the orphanage, nor the room she shared with Jay Gatsby, but a guest room.
Sunny woke up completely. She closed her eyes again, thinking about the details of the past eight months.
"Gatsby, I want to go to the fishing village to fulfill our dream."
"I support whatever you want to do, but Sunny, the conditions there are not good, Im still worried." Jay Gatsby pretended to be worried and added, "What if I dont see you for such a long time?"
Sunny smiled. Jay Gatsby had always been mature and composed in front of others, only acting like a playful teenager when facing her.
She had a wish since childhood, to build an orphanage in her hometowns fishing village, so that more orphans like herself could live without worries.
After her father passed away, the company fell into a brief period of chaos. It was her and Jay Gatsby who worked together to save the day. Now that everything in the company is back on track, Sunny can finally go and fulfill her dream.
This trip took eight months. In eight months, Sunny achieved it. She was eager to share this joy with Gatsby, but...
She couldnt understand why, but the harsh reality mocked her confidence. She always believed that Jay Gatsbys feelings for her would not change, but the facts were brutally laid out before her.
"Sunny OConnell, are you still naive? Still believe in fate and destiny?!"
Perhaps staying here is no longer meaningful, but even if she leaves, she wants to leave with clarity!
Sunny decided to have a talk with Jay Gatsby.
After going downstairs, the scene in the living room shocked her again: it was like an ocean of red roses, on the tables, walls, and windowsills, everywhere was a dazzling array of roses, and the domestic staff was bustling.
Sunny saw Mrs. Thompson coming over and asked her what was going on.
Mrs. Thompson hesitated, but in the end, she said, "Today, the young master and Dr. Lin are engaged."
Another bomb exploded in Sunnys heart. She shouted "Jay Gatsby" while rushing towards his bedroom.
The bedroom door was open, and Mrs. Thompson came over to tell her, "The young master went with Dr. Lin to choose the dress early in the morning, and the engagement ceremony will be in the evening."
Sunny couldnt believe that Jay Gatsby was going to break his promise and marry Linnea. Her father had just passed away, and the promise of not getting married for three years was not counted?
Even if Jay Gatsby changed his heart to someone else, could he not even abide by this promise? Sunny couldnt bear it any longer. She ran back to her room, found her phone, and called Jay Gatsby.
As expected, no one answered.
Just then, the room door closed with a strange "bang," and Sunny was shocked. She ran to open the door, but it was locked tightly. She knocked on the door and called for Mrs. Thompson, but the outside was silent, as if all the people in the world had disappeared at once.
A huge fear hit instantly, and Sunny shouted "Open the door! Open the door! Someone come," until she was hoarse. She then realized that she was confined.
Perhaps Jay Gatsby was determined that she would sabotage his engagement ceremony and would resort to such a move.
"Jay Gatsby, you are ruthless enough." This feeling is probably heartbreak.
