"You get out of here, this home doesnt allow a hussy like you to set foot in it!" Marks mother glared at Emily one last time and closed the door mercilessly.
Emily picked up her luggage, tears finally streaming down her face. She felt wronged with nowhere to voice her grievances, wondering why fate treated her so harshly. Dragging her luggage, she walked aimlessly on the busy streets, with nowhere to go, she finally thought of returning to her own home.
"Mom, Im home," Emily said as she entered her childhood home, the only place she could think of to return to.
"Why are you back? The newspapers have it all over, what have you done?" Emilys mother came out of the kitchen, looking at her with a scolding expression.
"Mark wants to divorce me, and his mother didnt believe me and kicked me out. Mom, I really have nowhere else to go," Emily said, tears streaming down her face.
"What? He wants a divorce? Whats going on? What did you do to make them kick you out?" Emilys mother grabbed her, shaking her body vigorously.
"I got hurt yesterday and passed out, and when I woke up, I was in a hotel. I dont know what happened!" Emily broke free from her mothers grip.
"Well, daughter, you should go back and apologize. You cant be kicked out like this. If youre kicked out, how can we continue to live as comfortably as we do now? Im old, and I cant stand the hardship," Emilys mother changed her expression, pretending to be caring as she helped Emily up, wanting her to go back and apologize immediately.
"I didnt do anything wrong, why should I apologize? It was Mark who brought another woman home first, it was he who said the woman was pregnant and wanted to divorce me," Emily looked at her mother in disbelief, never expecting her own mother to ask her to apologize to the Davis family.
