"Alright, I wont disturb you then," Emily said, not wanting to endure Lindas mocking gaze any longer. She turned to leave.
"Hey, why leave so soon? Come in and sit," Linda said, reaching out and grabbing Emilys arm as she tried to leave.
Emily didnt like being touched by strangers, so she struggled to pull her arm back. However, her gentle movement caused Linda to stumble and fall down the stairs, pulling Emily with her.
"My stomach... it hurts..." Linda cried out, clutching her stomach in pain as she curled up on the ground, a pool of blood forming beneath her.
"Ouch..." Emily also got up from the ground, but the pain in her hand made her fall back down. It seemed like her hand was broken.
"Linda! Whats wrong?" A familiar voice echoed from afar鈥攊t was Mark returning.
"My stomach hurts so much... My baby... Is my baby gone?" Linda clutched Marks shirt, her voice filled with tears.
"No, the baby will be fine. Ill take you to the hospital right away," Mark said, preparing to pick up Linda.
"Mark..." Hearing Marks voice, Emily forced herself to stand up, but the pain in her hand made her sweat profusely.
Smack, a loud slap landed on Emilys face. Emily felt a burning pain on her cheek. She looked at the man who had slapped her, feeling as if she was seeing him for the first time.
"It was you who pushed her down the stairs. I saw it with my own eyes. What else do you have to say for yourself? You cruel woman, you were jealous that she took me away from you, so you tried to get rid of her and the baby when I wasnt around, right?" Marks veins bulged as he yelled at Emily.
Emily closed her eyes, feeling as if she couldnt hear or see anything anymore. The pain in her hand was suffocating, but the pain in her heart was even more unbearable.
"Lets go, Ill take you to the hospital," Mark said, leaving Emily on the ground and rushing to his car with Linda in his arms.
Emily managed to stand up, holding her aching arm. Her head had hit the stairs when she fell, and blood trickled down her hair, mixing with her tears and falling to the ground in front of her.
Emily staggered out of the villa, and as soon as she reached the entrance, a downpour began.
Even God seemed to be against her. Did she not deserve to live in this world? Emily laughed bitterly and shook her head. The pain in her forehead came in waves, and her vision began to blur. Emily finally couldnt hold on any longer and collapsed in the rain.
In her daze, Emily saw a masked face appear in front of her, and someone picked her up, but then she lost consciousness.
It hurt so much when Emily woke up again, the pain in her forehead jolting her awake. The surroundings were unfamiliar; it seemed to be a hotel room. Emily sat up, holding her forehead, and noticed that her injured forehead had been bandaged, and her hand had been set and could move slightly.
