Jason Thompson held her, his whole body trembling violently, his silent sobs a testament to his military dignity. He bit his lip, blood seeping from the corners of his mouth, holding back all his hysteria. He took off his military uniform and wrapped Emily Thompson gently, covering her body that had been tortured.
"Be good, Ill take you home," he whispered, his lips lightly kissing her temple, his voice choked with emotion, "Dont be afraid."
As he lifted the blanket, the sight of her legs, stained with a heart-wrenching red, made even Jason, a man accustomed to the battlefield, stand still, the color draining from his face, veins bulging on his forehead.
His hands, hanging at his sides, trembled uncontrollably, his clenched fists making cracking sounds.
At this moment, Jason Thompson wanted nothing more than to rush out with a gun and shoot William Parker dead, but the decisiveness of a soldier also made him understand that doing so would not save the woman he loved.
He looked up, forcing the remaining tears back into his eyes, took a deep breath, and bent down to carefully hold Emily in his arms, his mouth full of tender endearments: "Dont be afraid, dont be afraid, were going home."
Downstairs, the soldiers watched as Jason carried his wife step by step, the blood from Emilys legs dripping onto the floor, staining everyones eyes red, and everyone unconsciously turned their eyes and pursed their lips.
Orders are like mountains, they had to comply!
Jason looked at them with bloodshot eyes, his loathing gaze making the soldiers unable to raise their heads.
"From now on, there are no more brothers in the Commanders residence!"
He left in big strides, and the aide watched Jasons receding figure, closing his eyes in helplessness and pain.
Jason, take care!
At the hospital.
A doctor in a white coat came out of the stark operating room, carrying a tray of bloody flesh.
Dr. Martin, under Jasons threat, could only tell Mrs. Thompson that the pregnant woman had a miscarriage and bleeding due to intense emotions and uterine contractions.
When Emily woke up, her eyes were staring straight at the ceiling, empty and silent.
"Emily..." Mrs. Thompson saw Emily wake up and quickly wiped away her tears, calling her, "I heard you fell down the stairs, my dear, youve suffered..."
Mrs. Thompson couldnt say any more, turning her head and covering her sobs with a handkerchief.
She really ached for her daughter-in-law, such a thin and miserable child, how much more suffering did she have to endure? Her heart was wrenching with pain, and the old womans red eyes were filled with sorrow.
Emily reached out with a trembling hand and touched her abdomen, which was no longer bulging, tears silently rolling down her cheeks.
Baby, Im sorry...
"You rest well, Jason has gone to buy you tonics," Mrs. Thompson rubbed her hair with a heavy nasal tone, unable to hide her worry.
At this moment, there was a knock on the ward door, and William Parker walked in with his usual polite smile: "Mrs. Thompson."
Mrs. Thompson saw William and quickly wiped her tears, standing up to greet him: "Commander is here."
"Yes, I came to see Mrs. Thompson. Its my fault for not taking good care of her, which led to Mrs. Thompsons accident," William looked at Emily, full of apologies, sincere and heartfelt.
"Commander, youre too kind, its Emily who was too careless," Mrs. Thompson nodded, the loneliness and pain in her eyes clearly visible.
Williams eyes darkened for a moment, but his face still wore a smile, "Its what I should do, Jason is also my good friend."
"Emily Thompsons family, come out and pay the fee quickly."
"Okay, okay, Commander, please sit tight, Ill be right back," Mrs. Thompson looked at Emily a little worriedly before following the nurse out and closing the door.
William watched Mrs. Thompson leave with a smile, then turned to look at Emily.
Emily looked at him, her hands clenched into fists under the blanket, Williams hypocritical expression was unbearable.
William found a chair and sat down, elegantly propping his chin with one hand, and looked at her directly: "I know your temper, dont rush to die first, Jason Thompson is in my hands..."
"What do you mean, what have you done to Jason!" Emilys lifeless eyes were instantly filled with panic, she knew too well the methods William used against his enemies.
She could die, but Jason must not be harmed!
