“Youve been chasing after me like a lapdog, what else do you think I would feel besides annoyance and disgust?” Jay Gatsbys cold tone was filled with thick disgust.
“Well, I understand.” Daisy laughed, her heart growing cold, “If you want it, its yours.”
It was an answer she already knew, yet it still stabbed her heart.
Perhaps heaven had already arranged this, to atone in this way.
The constant temperature inside the car couldnt warm Daisys cold heart until she returned to Gatsby Mansion, washed away her exhaustion, and finally shed all her strong pretenses, curling up on the large bed, tears soaking the pillow, and finally falling asleep in the dark.
At dawn, a phone call rang, after hearing the content, Daisy hurried to the hospital.
Jay Gatsby stood at the door, the doctor led the nurses out of the ward, Daisy rushed to meet them.
“Is this Ms. Powells daughter? This is the hospitalization payment list, please complete the procedures within 24 hours.” The duty nurse handed over the list to Daisy.
