In the luxuriously decorated mansion, on the dining table, instead of food, there lay a stack of papers.

Mia Rivers suddenly averted her gaze and asked in a trembling voice, "What does this mean?"

Across from her, her husband, whom she hadnt seen in four months, spoke concisely, "Divorce."

"Why?" Her hands, resting on her knees, clenched unconsciously.

Ethan Vaughn frowned slightly, "Do you need a reason?"

Mia nodded, her smile somewhat awkward.

"Like when you proposed, please give me a reason for the divorce that can convince me."

"Im tired."

As he said this, a flicker of annoyance crossed Ethans eyes.

Mia shivered, the man who had promised to give her a home, now claimed to be tired...

She couldnt let her child be born out of wedlock, so she couldnt divorce now!

"I disagree."

Ethan knew it wouldnt be this simple; he spoke indifferently, "Name your price, but..."

"Dont be too greedy. Its important to maintain some dignity."

Mia didnt even glance at the property division agreement.

"Give me one year. After one year, Ill sign and leave with nothing."

Ethans always indifferent and lazy eyes finally rested on Mia, as if trying to see through her intentions.

"What trick are you playing?"

"Mia, save some face for yourself. Refusing to divorce wont drag things out for long."

Mia looked at his beautifully shaped thin lips, so easily uttering a series of cold words that froze her stiff.

The one who doesnt love you, loves you less than you can imagine.

He can crush your pride into dust with ease.

Mia insisted, "I only need one year."

"If you dont agree... Ethan, do you think widower sounds good?"

Ethans eyes, which were full of curiosity, instantly turned into disdain.

She was actually using death to threaten him; Mia was really making no progress.

"If you dare to go back on your word, the price will not be something you can afford." Ethans face was cold as he stood up.

"Dont worry."

Only Mia knew how fragile this forced calm was.

She really failed miserably.

Mia picked up the divorce agreement and flipped through it, tears streaming down her face.

But, life is unpredictable.

Suddenly, blood mixed with tears dripped onto the paper.

Mia calmly wiped away her nosebleed, then signed her name on it.

Gently, she put it in the drawer, side by side with the bright red marriage certificate.

In the evening, the villas water and electricity were cut off, a rare occurrence.

Mia called the property management and received the reply that Mr. Vaughn had instructed to cut off water and electricity starting today.

Mia was stunned; he was forcing her to either sign quickly or move out.

She sat in the dark house all night, almost crying herself dry.

"Mr. Vaughn, Mrs... Miss Rivers has moved out."

Ethans brows furrowed deeply, and he said to his assistant, "Announce to the public that Mia and I are separated."
